Glad I passed the MonkeyGrammar test!

As for processor load, like it's been mentioned, there are resolution settings in both GR3 and AT2 that can be helpful to manage CPU usage. THey both sound better at high-res, of course, and I haven't had to use a lower resolution setting yet.
I think the CPU load is not drastically different between the two, but on a test I ran for a developer comparing some amp sims, I believe I ran out of CPU with GR3 before AT2. To be fair, the test I did used more instances than I would use for any of my usual projects, and I've never run out of resources from my amp sims yet in daily use (see sig for system specs).
Enabling some of the more heavy-duty effects in GR3 would obviously make more of a difference between the two products than the basic amp/cab/mic setup.
Having GR3, all the Amplitube stuff as well as Gearbox (with my Toneport) is kind of an insane number of options for me to have at my fingertips, but I wouldn't want to give up any of them.

On my G5 imac it was very efficient. Guitar Rig was a CPU pig.

How about AT2 / AJX stability wise?

Reason I ask is that I downloaded the AT2, AJH and SVX demos - I already have AT2 LIVE installed.

For some reason the AT2 demo (only) has suddenly become the most unstable plug I've used for many years  I've been battling literally several hours at a time to get some projects to accept it without unexpectedly quitting. Weirdly it works OK in other projects....? If it's ina project it's fine to open it but getting it to instantiate in teh first place without DP quitting is nigh impossible ... and it seems to be getting worse!!

I've repaired perms a zillion times etc

I noticed in my plug drop down AJX is listed in the main list, then there is an IKmultimedia 'folder' at thw bottom with AT2, AJX (again), AT2 LIVE and SVX ..... also in my VST 'folder' (audioease wrapped) non of them show up even though they are in my VST plug ins folder. I wondered if this might be an indication of a bad install or something???

Also I wondered if maybe there was some kind of conflict between my AT2 LIVE and AT2 demo?... just clutching at straws here!

Anyone else getting probs withthe AT2 demo - and how's the full auth'd version stability wise?

- this is on a G5 d 1.8
10.4.11
Dp5.13

The price has dropped to $179 (from $199). And I think for US / CA at least the $25 has been waived too ... plus it only needs 100 (not 200) to sign up to get the lowest price ..... there is talk of other incentives too....

So sign up NOW and then the deal will only get better (more stuff thown in)

Also my AT2 demo has behaved much better today - I'm in touch with their tech support anyway .... still interested to here if anyone else is having issues with it though...

I've never had an issue with any of the IK amp plugins. I have never had the Live version installed or wrapped them with anything - I use the AU in DP, and have used them for many projects without a hiccup. I'm suspecting something unusual happened with the install or the wrapper. Also, I used them all in demo mode before authorizing them. Hope they help you get it working!

Thanks for the reassurance Mike- TBH I'm not really that worried as I'd know I'm sure if there was an underlying issue with DP or my OS or whatever ...

When I do get it into a track it works lie a charm - I noticed it is just a few select projects it is having difficulties with.....

Anyway I'm in the group buy now so fingers crossed it'll sort itself out!

Okay, I decided to sign up. I never cared for SampleTank, which was the only IK product I've used, but you guys convinced me this is a cool product and a great deal. 8)

does this software need a wrapper or is it AU or MAS? Sounds like a great deal but I run no VST plugs. Any info on how it runs inside DP?

Generally speaking, it runs well.

Don't quote me on this, but I think I remember reading some issues with inserting "stereo" instances of Amplitube in a mono track - which would cause DP to crash. If I recall, the solution was to insert a stereo effect before amplitube and then bypass that effect if you don't actually want it. If you search this forum I think you'll find it.

Other than that, most reports have been rock solid.

Thanks ltemma74 , this has totally cleared up an issue I was having! I should have spotted that that was it!

I'm already in the group buy anyway - currently at about 72 people ... as soon as 100 is hit price drops to $179 and download is made available immediately .... if numbers keep rising after that more 'stuff' might be added to the deal.

I thought we had to wait to the end of the group buy on March 9 before we could download.

Can we really download and get serial numbers etc. and start using the software before the ending date of 3/9?

I just checked (quickly) on esoundz and didn't see anything about this, only that your card is not charged until the ending date, so I wonder if you get serial numbers etc. before your card is charged.

I'm a GuitarRig3 owner, and while I like it, can't wait to get this!! I've been playing around, longingly, with the Amplitube and Jimi Hendrix demos all morning, and can't wait to get 'em!

I doubt it. It hasn't worked that way before.

According to Squids on the KVR thread, once the 100 people has been reached - even if before the official end date - it will be available.

FYI: AT2, JHX SVX etc demos can be downloaded anytime from the IK site - they are the full software (which asks for authorization each start up). After 10 days they start emitting white noise if not auth'd by then.

I'm not 100% sure if X-gear is even released yet - I think it is due out in March - but the other IK products obviously are available.
