Hello Frodo!

Glad to hear that it is such a Fab day for you, BTW ;)

Just wondering how you determined that you had corrupt plist files -- do you have a software utility that can tell you this? It sound like very useful information to be able to get.

I have some weird things on my MBP -- seems like if I hit OK on a print dialog bos "too quickly" that it terminates the running app!! So I am on the lookout for lurking blue meanies and such.

DiskWarrior 4.0, bay-beeeeeeeeee!!! LOL

I've been doing some pretty intensive tweezing lately-- that I'd be laughed at by real geeks!

No, I'm learning a lot here and am determined to exorcise the ghosts in the machine.

My goal-- to shake it up baby and to twist and shout!

I'd put this in another thread on the DP forum, but thought it would be a worthy FYI (as opposed to an urgent heads up or a panic starter-- just FYI) RE: 10.4.10:

Thanks Frodo! You guys are so helpful... its awesome here! I briefly tested .10 last night. It didn't solve my usb printer issue (wishing Samsung would write Intel drivers....), nor did it seem cause issues, but too early for me to tell. I checked those links. I may stick with .8 for now (chicken, I know...)

The "audio pop" issue seems to be serious. I for one, do use internal audio from time to time, and I know others in these forums do, too. However, it does seem to be an Intel issue only. I'm keeping an eye on this for a while before taking the plunge.

BTW, 10.4.10 just sounds awkward. How about X.4.10, or maybe X.10.X? Or X.IV.X?

LOL-- when rumors of this update surfaced a few weeks back, I thought the same thing.

My suggestion was 10.4.9.1, but I do like X.10.X or even X.4.X a lot.

Ah, a rose (or thorn) by any other name...

fwiw-- I've discovered that the pops and clicks are not isolated to just Built-In. I get them through my 424 card as well. So it really is something serious going on at the OS level.

What's really noteworthy is that we've sort of stopped picking on DP as being the source of some of these issues.
