Glad I checked the forum.... I don't come on often.

I have a somewhat different problem. I also use MIDI extensively... I have several keyboards and two racks of equipment ach with its own MTP/AV USB.

I bought a MBP and I can not network the MTP's the both have to be connected via USB which is fine for me (and the timing is better via USB) but the strange problem is that no MIDI comes in!

When i'm away from home I use a FastLane and I can take sequences i've created on Qy100 and record the into DP 5.11 using multi-record but when at HOME using my larger setup, I can't receive any MIDI data..... However, playback is fine and rock solid!

As fate would have it my MIDI problem went away . I don't know if it had to do with the DP 5.12 update (which I installed after reading about it here) or not :?:

Sometimes these things feel like hollow victories 'cause even though you won, you're not sure how you did it.

Either way, you did it, misterhemi.
Yay! Well done.

Peter,

Yeah, I've tried removing Giga from the equation, but the problem was still present. I have the erratic MIDI behavior using only DP's VI plugins.

I've also tried with the OS X Core-MIDI option enabled and disabled, but that didn't change anything.

Kevin,

We are having the exact same problem. I had in fact forgotten to mention the "MIDI bombs", but I also get them from time to time. 2 years with no fix is way too long. I don't know how you can keep using DP 5.x, I've had to go back to 4.61 because this issue is so severe.

I've been unable to find anything in my setup outside of DP 5 that might be involved in the problem. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with the amount of controller data in a sequence? I do complex orchestral mockup work and my sequences send tons of cc data. Maybe that could be why some are experiencing the issue and others not?

Anyway, I hope everyone who has this problem will email MOTU so they can finally find a fix for this. I'm already really missing some of DP 5's features (track folders... Aaaargh!!). If no fix is ever offered for this I'll have to switch sequencers if I don't want to stay stuck in DP 4.61 land forever (DP 4.61 is nice, but I do like to get upgrades and improvements to my software). I would really hate to have to switch, as I otherwise enjoy DP very much.
