How many companies can say their customers love their copy-protection system so much they take it to the crapper with them?
That didn't come out quite right.
Hang on... plop... that's better.

Heavy manual. Light relief.

I ended up print most of Propellerhead Reason's PDF manual just so9 I had a hard copy of it... It's so much easier and you don't have to switch from a window to another to read the instruction and then try it on your software...
Long life to DP's Manual!!!

Don't blame me; I asked MOTU to get me a fully enclosed cage, but to no avail.
Unfortunately the only sweetness emanating from the monkey comes from the north end.

I don't know if this is true, but I'm not sure MOTU has ever expressed that this lack of a PDF is a means of piracy protection. I think that's an assumption made by us.

My guess is it's not a fish they care to fry, so to speak. Their efforts are focused elsewhere.

Personally, I don't think a PDF version of the manual would have any significant effect of DP piracy. There are plenty of third-party instructional media available, and DP's own online help isn't exactly meager.

Good points, Chris.

I can't help but wonder whether the "piracy rate" is directly proportional to the number of "bedroom propellor-head" bells and whistles.
Will we see DP's rate skyrocket when (he hopes) we eventually receive a glut of VIs, pro FX and Red Book CD burning, etc.?

having the manual in book form is great, keep it that way motu!
I don‘t excatly hate pdfs, but I don‘t like them either if I want to look up something while DP is running in a 1 monitor setup.
having BOTH wouldn‘t hurt, though...
