Hijack Pro doesn't have this limitation

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/compare.php

Hijack Running Applications (Instant Hijack•„•) Hijack Pro Yes | Hijack No

Hijack pro is $32.00 vs 16.00 for Hijack.

My workflow was different than yours -- I started Hijack first, and then started my DP Session from Hijack. Hijack launched DP, I loaded my song and away I went. But if that isn't workable for you, seems like Hijack Pro might be.

666 suggestion also worth checking out.

Hey, 'baller

I'll throw in two more beers for my single toilet-boy transgression.
Doh! That'll 'ave to be 3 then.

I should have said, "Keep up the great work", BTW.

Glad I caught you, TB.

What kind of interface are you getting? If it's one of MOTU's, you don't need AudioHijack. All you have to do is open MOTU Cuemix Console, and enable "Mix 1 Return Includes Computer Output." Then, enable a stereo track in DP and set the input to "MOTU Ultralite:Mix1 1-2" (this applies to my UltraLite; I'd imagine it's similar for other MOTU interfaces). This was a welcome surprise after I bought an UltraLite and read about it in the manual.
At the moment, I'm using a Toneport as the interface I ordered (Firestudio) hasn't arrived yet....Maybe the Firestudio will have a similar routing feature....

Thanks for the tip on hijack pro- it just might be worth getting.....

Interesting . . . that's one of the two interfaces I tested hijack with! Best of luck . . .
