Window line data bumps are inacurate and not audibly previewable as a trim on the fly where you are listening to the mix, yea?

I don't understand what you are talking about at all. Could you please define this for me more clearly and describe why this would be helpful. Thanks.

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to write to the end without playing to the end.
If I'm doing a Latch Trim that I want write to the end (without going there), I'll hit stop while writing (after noting the trim amount....or hit pause), highlight the breakpoint that's right after the last newly written one , hit Option+Shift+Return to select all to the end, go to Change Continious Data and trim by that amount.
It sounds like a lot, but it can be done pretty quickly.

Vertical zoom in the track window.

Zoom/unzoom capability for AUs (Arturia's Minimoog V fills up the majority of my screen).

Allow a mouse scroll wheel to scroll up and down through an AU display (this works with Arturia's ARP 2600V in standalone mode but not when using the 2600 inside DP).

Yes. That is the way it's done now agreed but a single global button on the frame of the mix fader window would be great.

In my pictorial I added it to all faders but that's really not necessary as anything in trim, mute or latch mode that is changing state in play/write could be written to end with one button.

One thing important to us would be to stop playback OR turn off update lights after the 'write to end' is accomplished... something which would confirm the write process.

There are other features that would make mixing streamlined and more intuitive like solo group or mix sets with write enable for breakdowns. I would also like to see mix selections on the fly
so complete mixes could be changed with the same buttons.

Maybe the name solo group could be somthing else, I certainly don't care but the feature itself nomatter how implemented would make for fantastic, quick, creative mixing of commercial music.

Thanks for your reply.

Okay, TL. I get what you're talking about. I guess I never think about what you're wishing for because I do so much manual editing of automation data, I just write it in deleting some dots here and adding one dot at the end... piece of cake.

Still your suggestion is a good one, I just couldn't see what you were talking about because I have my own way of dealing with that.

Client:
"What are you doing?"

AE:
"Oh....I gotta wait for it to write this move 'till the end of the song."

Not good.

May I add:

1. When adding a VI track with a chosen instrument, a dialog should pop up with options:

••• Add one MIDI track (y) (n)
> adds MIDI track and assigns it's output automatically to this VI channel 1.

••• Add multiple MIDI tracks (y) (n)
> adds multiple MIDI tracks and assigns it's outputs to consecutive MIDI channels of this VI.

••• Add no MIDI track (y) (n)

------------

2. What [Option A] does for audio channels, (Audio Assignments - in Studio Menu) [Option M] (or what ever) should do for MIDI channels.

I know we can use templates and the Clipping windows, but, templates aren't always the solution. If you decide to 'ad' an Instrument that's not in the template. And Clippings is very good if it would:

A. NOT add 'copy' to the tracks.

B. NOT 'have to' go to the bottom of the tracks window, but instead you would high light a track in the tracks window, then drag the clipping and it would settle in right beneath that selected track.

C. (not directly for MIDI tracks) if the clipping contains 'grouped' tracks, that should be maintained and NOT lost.

---------

3. Be able to 'move tracks in groups' in the tracks window.

----------

4. Add Solo, Volume and Pan in the SE (like Pro Tools)

--------

5. Optional small Counter and CPU monitor in the Bar of the Tracks window and SE, so when more screen real estate is needed we can expand these windows and still get the counter and stuff.

I'm thinking I'd love this too. Coming from PT, I have no idea of the purpose of the tracks window, it seems very strange. I'm struggling with the Sequence editor, but can't quite finger what's stalling me every now and then. I get a bit lost with the MIDI I've created...

I've never used Logic, but could we have something that looks and acts (I'm guessing though) at least superficially like the Logic Arrange window?

I know there are workarounds, but from screenshots, it seems so much more intuitive to my eye... maybe it's the colours or something

Definitely! Plus a folder section within the tracks window for placing alike instruments together. They have this in Cubase and Logic and it would be helpful.

Thanks.

Now I'll have to investigate more in that Commands window maybe some other goodies are hiding there!

This is all I've ever wanted in my life (yes, that's sad). I've emailed this request to them three years ago. I pray every night before I go to bed that it'll happen.
