I, too, have been looking at these same recording interfaces. Having read the posts above, the Saffire is now off my list. I have a Mac G5, and we'll be replacing our old NT4.0 machine with a Mac laptop in the near future. I don't want something that doesn't get along with my Macs.
Right now I'm leaning toward the Ultralite. It means a lot to me that Motu has had a long relationship with the Macintosh and that its drivers are solid.
By the way, the word I got today from RME's distributer in the US is that the Fireface 400 "might be here in July and it will probably go for $999.00"--but the street price will still be considerably higher than the Ultralite's. (The Konnekt 24D won't be available till sometime this summer, but I haven't heard anything more specific than that. I do like some of the Konnekt's features, and the price I've been quoted is less than the Ultralite's.)
