I have yet to try Tiger. I am planning on installing it to a separate partition soon and see how it runs. The only thing I've read about it that seems to be an improvement I'd appreciate is better management of Isync for keeping Ical current on all my macs. Still I'll need to get up to speed on it before some audio upgrade I need requires a newer os than 10.3.9beubbo wrote:
Hi Hopiway,
As some ppl report good things about the newest Tiger 10.4.5 version with DP 4.61, what was the last Tiger's version you've tested before stepping back to Panther 10.3.9 ?
Perhaps this thread could be more exhaustive with everyone's specs system... Often, system's issues are inherent to the use of multiple musical applications (DP, Live...), 3rd party plug-ins, audio interface & drivers AND dsp cards (I own 4 uad cards).
Thanks.
most stable system

DP 4.61 and OSX 10.4.2 working fine here on a 2.5GHz G5.
I use DashOnOff to disable Dashboard. (The link to DashOnOff at macupdate.com wasn't working as I post this...)

DP 4.61 and OS 10.4.5 are working great on both my G5 Dual 2.0 GHz (with Magma chassis and 4 UAD-1 cards) and also on my 1.5 GHz 12" PowerBook.
I was a really late adopter of OS X as I hated to leave my Bomb Factory and other OS 9 plug-ins behind. But ... knock wood ... every version of OS X I've used to date has been great with DP. I think I came on board with 10.2.x and DP 4.1.2.
Like others here, I have used Performer since the version 2 (?) days back in the late 80s, and this is perhaps the most stable version yet.
Best regards,
Erik
