It looks that way. Especially if we got them at the bargain basement blowout deal. My big fear, as I said before, is that developers are going to use the M1 transition to push us into subscription. Speaking of which, I went to the UA site to get the native versions of my plugs and followed all the instructions and linked my iLok account, etc. and none of my plug ins showed as available for download in UADx format. Ugh.
A heads-up that there wasn't a grace period might have been nice of McDSP. I'da still gone for the free delay bundle, but I'd feel less scammed.

I'm guessing UA is still working on the bugs on that transition. I'm sure they'll have you sorted eventually.

Re subscriptions. No companies are exclusively subscription based are they? That would suck. It seems like that model will have diminishing returns as companies implement it. For example, I'm all-in with EW Composer's Cloud, but unless it's super cheap, I can't see myself subscribing to CineSamples' Musio when it comes out. Even though I love CineSamples, EW beat them to it essentially.

Crystalline Reverb Reg: $99, Sale:$49 With Code $41.65 And it's good!

This is actually pretty cool. Intro sale going on for Crystalline. Billed as a Next-Generation Algorithmic Reverb. Sounds pretty good to my ear and it has some cool features like a ducker slider, lots of controls too numerous to mention, tons of presets, a neat little ergonomic feature where you can save a default patch it instantiates with, etc. You'll have to read up on it at the link. Also it's M1 native compatible so future proof.

Normally. $99 it's intro priced at $49, and if you use the code BABYFAM15 at checkout (I found this in the comments of their Facebook ad) the price drops to $41.65. Oh yes... and there's also a free demo that goes silent for 5 seconds every 60 seconds, so very easy to try this out. I went ahead and grabbed it after just a few minutes of testing the demo as an insert on a solo vocal track which is sort of my litmus test for reverbs. Seems like a no brainer. Some of the presets can be demanding on CPU but not nearly as bad as Abbey Road Plates and most of the presets seems reasonable. Not to mention, it's M1 native compatible, so in the future when you get an M1 Mac, it won't even break a sweat with this plug.

Here's the link to the main product page:
https://babyaud.io/crystalline

There's a demo available here:
https://babyaud.io/free-trials

Of course they want an email address to get the download links. I'm tempted to give out the direct link, but give them a break. This is a nice verb for the money and you can always unsubscribe from any emails you get.

SSL Essentials Bundle $49.99

As I said before, every now and then SSL offers a stupid deal on one of their excellent but over-priced plugins. I use these two plugins every day, as they are the exact package that works with the UC1. $49.99

https://store.solidstatelogic.com/plug- ... ls-bundle-

They are very powerful, and sound spot-on to the SSL 9000K console. If you like that sound, this is no-brainer.

I'm glad someone posted this... I was about to, but WARNING!! If you check the compatibility chart they check the box under M1 compatible with an ASTERISK. Down at the bottom it says "Requires Rosetta 2." There is no statement as to whether M1 *native* compatibility will be a free or PAID upgrade. Or even that it will happen at all... but probably I guess.

I'm on the lookout for these things, because I recently bought McDSP Retro Pack v6 on a one of these bargain blowouts for $29. A week later I got an email announcing version 7 and that the upgrade (to get M1 native versions) will cost $69. I still saved about $50 over buying them at original full price, but just keep that in mind. Same thing could happen here. I've become very careful with these things lately.

I think you're safe with this particular set, because it is the same set you get with the UC1 hardware controller, and they are licensed to an iLok. Guys who purchased the hardware would be understandably angry if they had to pay for a compatibility update.

Also, without knowing for sure, I would bet these two plugins will be SSL's first to get ported to M1 Native. Their compatibility and support for Logic Pro is far and above any other DAW, and we can bet they are scrambling to make it M1 native. They want people to buy their controllers, to go with that new Mac Studio..

Understood. And I wasn’t necessarily saying they wouldn’t go native. In the example I gave Retro Pack went native, too. I’m just saying to expect a larger layout of cash for the upgrade price to get from this blowout bundle to the native versions. I can bet there won’t be a free grace period, just like with the McDSP Retro Pack deal. What would SSL charge regular users to upgrade? $89? $129? Just saying if you aren’t willing to pay that for these plugs than be forewarned. I bought the retro pack only because it was so cheap and thus an impulse. If I knew I was gonna fork over another $69 a week later I would have passed on them probably. I have a ton of similar plugs.

Anyways, maybe I will go for these, but just felt it needed mentioning that most likely you’re gonna be forking out an unknown amount of cash again soon to have them run native on a new M1 Mac.

This! (free until 4/26)

I haven't dug in too far yet but can definitely say the BX console and shadow hills compressor are DOPE

I picked up this bundle. I was impressed with the bx_oberhausen synth. I wasn't looking for another synth, I was more interested in that Shadow Hills EQ, but I thought as long as it was there, I'd just try it out. Next thing you know, an hour went by... fun VI!

PSP is selling Twin-L (L for Limiter) for 9.99 I bought it because for that price, mucking about with the demo is a waste of time. I really like the Opto setting with a slight boost in input and a ceiling about the same value in the other direction. A nice dreamy sound I'll use.

It's one of my go-to. I don't recall what I paid but it was more than $10, of that I am certain. The AU, VST & VST3 are AS Native (AAX requires Rosetta 2).

Bought on your recommendation—and my past positive experience with PSP. I have bx_limiter True Peak for my master buss limiter, but I’m hoping it will be useful on individual tracks and busses.

Thanks for the tip!

This may have been already mentioned but the Steven Slate Drums SSD 5.5 and Trigger Drum replacement and expansion packs are on sale. I was a BFD user and I am really enjoying the Slate Drums. I'll use the SSD plug in for songwriting and then if I record live drums, I may use Trigger to beef up the kick and snare. He also has free versions of both that can try and keep for free.

While I'm raving about Slate products in conjunction with DP, his ML-1 virtual modeling mic and plug ins are on sale this month, it has given me the best vocal and acoustic guitar recordings I've ever had. For those of us without treated studios or who travel, I also love the Slate VSX Headphones and studio sofrware. He's going to have a shipment of an upgradable model and more virtual mix rooms.

While I have resisted having yet another subscription, Plug In Alliance has had some freebies and I have to say I love the Lindell plug ins, there is something special with them. (IMHO)

Yeah, I'm not big on subs either but bought into the Slate bundle years ago and will stick with it.

I'm a big rap for SSD4 & 5 too and have been holding out on the latest pack, which is the only one I don't have, so I might as well grab it now.

As for PA, I learned something today that I'm definitely peeved about:
There's a limit to the number of (re)registrations they allow you. IIRC it's 7, but I may be wrong. That plain sucks IMHO. I've been a staunch supporter of PA until now, having collected almost all of their plugins over the last 4 years. Just a heads-up in case it matters to you.

Cherry Audio Lowdown (Taurus 1) $25

I used to own Taurus 1 pedals "back in the day" and I wish to God I'd kept it. I have a sample I made from the unit while I still owned it that is a MachFive instrument, but I listened to the demo audio and this sounded good. I guess I bought it mostly for nostalgia. But sometimes it's just a great sound to have:

https://cherryaudio.com/products/lowdown

Normally $39. Intro price $25

UPDATE: FYI... this works fine in DP 11.1. Fun stuff! :)
