Yes, and a green bass for the cash.

Apparently someone else got clarification that Komplete 6 will NOT include the Scarbee bundles.
It still takes a lot of reading between the lines and guesswork to conclude whether NI will drop and/or replace Akoustik and/or Elektrik Piano. But I imagine they need to keep them for awhile, as placeholders if nothing else.

NI needs to re-do Akoustik Piano big-time.. The release behavior when using
the sustain pedal borders on hilarious. It really is an unusable VI.

Elektrik piano too. There's too much dirt in those samples.

Larry Mal wrote:I was going to suggest ordering it from Guitar Center, but it seems that they are out as well. AudioMIDI.com still have Komplete for $399, though, if that's any help to anyone.
Not available at AudioMidi or NI's website. Oh well, guess I missed that boat. Too busy taking advantage of the 2 for 1 deal over at EastWest..........

Yep... me too. I was definitely going to go for it, but I left it too long.
I might do the Kontakt crossgrade for $249 at Sweetwater, since I would like to have Kontakt... but I sure would like to have had all the other stuff for the extra $90.

Zed, I think some of the other smaller packets were on sale too, were they not?
So maybe you can still piece together a reasonable deal with the Kontakt upgrade/crossgrade and maybe the Synths Collection, e.g.

Also, when I checked Nova Musik last night for unrelated products, I noticed they still list the NI Komplete special, so may still have some in stock.
I forget whether someone already said audiomidi.com is out of stock, but they do list it as well.

As an aside, I think this is the last time we will see fire sales on almost-obsolete versions of VI's from major vendors.
It looks very much like even the larger libraries are going to a download-only policy. That solves the problem of warehousing and inventory overstock -- especially near end of life cycle.

To borrow a phrase from the kids in the back seat--- "Are we there yet?"
That's not to be anxious-- it's a real question about whether or not we really are at the point where this ready to make sense. Host server time-out errors remain my main internet pet peave for large downloads.

I think there are too many advantages - even for customers - to have packaging and manuals. It's more tangible when spending money. And I agree with Frodo, for my download speed and WWW server reliance would surely put an end to my purchases of larger libraries.

Well, aside from pontificating (and I agree with both of you), I do think NI is giving a strong indication they are pulling out of retail and going to direct sales, which doesn't necessarily mean download-only but that will probably be the default option unless you spend more for packagaing.
And regardless of that, the bottom line is that this means there will be no need for markdowns to bridge product releases, unless the on-demand packaged/shipped versions are stockpiled vs. created/manufactured as-needed.

If all you need is the Kontakt 2 to 3 upgrade, here's a good source on the cheap (legitimate too):
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Kontakt3upd
I don't remember though if this is the topic where that came up, as there are three separate topics now discussing various NI upgrade paths and options (and who is or isn't sold out).
