I tried that trick and sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Honestly, I think it is Logic that is hosing it up. The reason is that if I do not run Logic, opening and using ANY OTHER applications runs fine and plays well together. If I have Logic open, something happens to the CoreAudio drivers and nothing plays. Also, I get conflicts with DP. I think they both try and hog the interface (which I believe is a low level function that allows an application to take control of the audio interface if I recall properly, which I may not). BUT, the problem keeps kinda changing :) At one time, iTunes was doing it. Whatever it is, it all happened with qucktime. sigh. I am *really* starting to dislike quicktime. We have another mac tower in the studio and a newer version of quicktime has caused a REALLY strange problem. Any video with 48kHz sound plays back VERY choppy or gets stuck on a white screen or a frame of the video. Any other bit rate and it works fine :)

I expect there to be a few bugs with such a large change.

Hey there Gary.
I priced bananas at the supermarket the other day - 98ยข a kilo!
That's a little down from the $12/kg of 12-15 months ago.

EDIT: Self-pitying rant deleted. You can all thank me later. :D

grimepoch wrote:FWIW I run Leopard with DP. For the most part I can get it to work. There are some issues with the audio drivers on my machine where they can get stuck not working. Mostly it has something to do with Logic and Quicktime. A reboot fixes the problem. DP does not seem to suffer from it. I do know it started when I upgraded to the latest QuickTime and just DO NOT want to reinstall everything as it takes a whole day for me.
Hey grimepoch, I had almost the exact same problem with QuickTime and my 896HD that MOTU tech support helped me resolve. Check out this thread and see if that works for you. Good luck!

I do use the ADATs, but I will try toggling the settings and see what happens! Thanks for the heads up.

Do they send out an order confirmation?
I haven't got one yet.

Yes, MOTU e-mails you when they send you your product.

Relax and give it two to four weeks. That's what I'm giving it. I posted back in February that my guess for DP6 release would be late June or early July.

I'll go further and say a maintenance update will be out late August to mid-September. And the "actual" working version will be in December. It's always about three updates in that we get the working version. Hope I'm wrong on that, of course...

frodo??....Shoosh?...who's got the biggest pair?

The biggest pair of WHAT? Who needs a pair? I've got a whole CREW! My very own DP Tech Support Crew following me in lockstep, just waiting to install DP6 and to figure out all the problems. Takes a certain kind of mind to do this for very long. ;)

Ya they play here in TO next Wednesday I've got a BSP for soundcheck and eat their food and stuff plus front row center.
It will be great Al Di Meola has been one of my Guitar heroes not to mention the rest of them.
I grew up with the Jazz fusion stuff.
