Andy-- check out the link in the SOS thread. SOS reviewed DP 7.2 and mentioned your site and your themes. :)

Rushed over to SOS, discovered it was a 'Performer Notes' writeup - not quite a review, but something cool, and a great plug for Andy :D .

My guess is that the feeling would be mutual.

I know it's getting slower and slower with this stuff. Sorry bout that, I'm not even sure how much longer I'll be in the business of music related things at this point. Just too ugly of a world for me these days. Anyway...

Looks awesome! Sorry to hear you mention things aren't all fine and dandy on the music side of things. Hope that turns around for you very soon.

I agree with Mr. Falk! Your GUI work has had more impact on DP than probably anyone else in this forum. And that's coming from someone who has seen dozens of his ideas implemented over 25 years. But working in the music field can be extremely discouraging at times, even when you're making plenty of money at it. A great conductor once told me something that seems too simplistic to be important, but it made the difference for me. It was the WAY he said it. He said emphatically "never give up. Never give up. NEVER GIVE UP!" When things weren't going my way, I'd picture Anshel Brusilow standing there telling me that, then I'd just go back to the drawing board and try something until something came of it. The things that made me the most money were usually things I probably wouldn't have chosen or planned, but that sort of evolved out of the efforts of several people in a sort of collaboration. But the way I got into those collaborations was from doing my own stuff which attracted the attention of others, who then realized they could use my ideas themselves. So, when things aren't going your way, it may be time to retreat and work on some ideas of your own. Then when you get some impressive stuff done, let people hear it or see it! In fact, AmpGUI is a perfect example of that, except that it probably isn't a big revenue stream. But some things pay in satisfaction. You've GOT to feel some satisfaction when you look around and see how many people are using Themes in DP. Even if they aren't YOUR themes, those would not be there right now if not for you, dood.

Never Give Up!

Your encouragement means a lot, guys. Thanks. I'll let you know what happens...

In the meantime here's a fixed xml file for Overcast. There's a problem with the counter when using BTD...

http://b6.s3.p.quickshareit.com/files/c ... d641be.zip

1 Open your Themes folder (can be done from DP prefs)
2 Right click on Overcast bundle, click "Show Package Contents"
3 Go to Resources folder, which is inside "Contents"
4 Drag this file in, replacing what's there.
5 Reload the theme in the DP theme preference window.

Done.

You can also just go in to the DefaultStyle.xml file and change the "kCounterBackgroundColor" parameter to whatever you'd like.

Along time ago I read an interview with McCoy Tyner, where he was discussing his time driving a taxi after Coltrane died. I can't quote it, but the gist of it was:
If you can do anything else besides music in life, then do that. Otherwise, give it everything you have and things work out..

I still believe that to be true.
