Re: PSP for Brainz
Yep, got the Brainworks one too as I am on their subscription list. Probably a sub I'll keep, unlike others that I've canceled. Haven't had time to compare.

Judging from everything I've heard, it's definitely a keeper, Mark.
Unlike the original Brainworx bx_limiter, which apparently is OK for stems but can't be pushed hard transparently like the new one.

Well, they have monthly @ $10, annual $99 and other plans. Lots of plugs, few that I'll ever use but True Peak is included.monkey man wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 1:51 am Judging from everything I've heard, it's definitely a keeper, Mark.

Though a lifetime license for bx_Limiter True Peak intro price is $249.99, a quick Google search found this coupon code that knocks it down to $149.99: TRUEPEAK-INTRO-14999 through May 10 — and I've verified it does work. I use a couple of the other bx plugs so I'm doing the $99 to see how that works out. If that's the only one I use a lot, I can apply my $99 voucher towards a stand-alone license. We'll see…

Re: Plug-in Sales and Special Deals Sticky Topic
Stoivo, all the PA prices are artificially-inflated; it's part of their promotional M.O.
Regular customers use their loyalty vouchers, received via email at the beginning of every month, in conjunction with promotional sales prices and vouchers like the $149 one Mike provided, to pay reasonable prices for what are IMHO generally-very-good processors and hardware sims.
Nobody I've met has ever paid full price for any of the more-expensive products. Their guitar pedals and amps are often bought as-is in order to bring cart values to the minimum-spend requirements of the loyalty vouchers.
Once one has all the cheap products 'though, acquiring new highly-priced plugins, even with sales and loyalty vouchers, generally means spending $79 in theory ($149 sale price less max-sized loyalty voucher of $75). Problem is that there's a minimum spend of $99 for the $75 loyalty voucher, which is why you see folks swapping their $75s for $50s and even $25s over at GearSpace and KVR.
It's pretty-complicated, really, but many of the plugins are awesome.

Re: Plug-in Sales and Special Deals Sticky Topic
I was just over at Plugin Boutique and noticed a deal on BreakTweaker by Izotope & BT for $10. Seems like a pretty amazing deal if you like those kinds of things...

Re: Plug-in Sales and Special Deals Sticky Topic
The BreakTweaker bundle (which includes the expansion packs) is an abandonware price-- still it's nice that I can load it on an older machine fairly painlessly.
It has a great selection of grooves and sounds. It has a versatile and powerful sound engine. Really the mojo is in the micro-step section which has lots of useful features and shapes to blur between pitch and rhythm.
The UI is pretty weak, 24 sequences per preset are easily triggered via MIDI notes. Sequences are limited to 32 steps, and you must scroll to an additional half screen to see all of them. Step rates include 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 1, 3/2, 2, 3, so triplet friendly--- which is important because there's no swing. Unfortunately, there's no song mode (to string together sequences) but that's easily handled in the DAW.
Given that sounds can be triggered via MIDI, the lack of swing can be mitigated by using the DAW sequencer.
At $10, it's hard to complain (it was originally $250 with the packs?). Just browsing the presets I'm learning more about some styles. The buzz around forums is pretty grumbly because of the crappy interface and abandonment by Izotope. I think that criticism is fair.

Re: Plug-in Sales and Special Deals Sticky Topic
Indeed it is IMHO Stubbsy.
Heads-up:
Skippy (Plugin Guru) made 2 libraries some years ago for it. He converted two of his existing libs:
OMG! Drumz Urban
MegaMacho Drums Power Pack for BreakTweaker
Also, Electronisounds released one called Microgenetic Breaks.

Thanks for showing me those. I checked out both. The second library has more interesting grooves (IMHO). Fun stuff.
