Hey, as Site Admin... again, glad to have you here. I myself got in on the group buy and may go for it again! :)

Also, I did renumber the leading zeros in at the beginning of instruments (the BPM number). Further though, I found instances where in the name of the instrument itself (in this case in the World Groove loops) I'd find names sort of like this (they're not exact, just an example):

120_djembe_8.sti
120_djembe_9.sti
120_djembe_10.sti

Sample Tank would sort these three instruments in its browser thusly:

120_djembe_10.sti
120_djembe_8.sti
120_djembe_9.sti

Because of this I went through and renamed the files to add leading zeros to "8" and "9". To do that I used a cool utility I found called Renamer. You get a 15-day trial period and after that it's $25, which is somewhat steep but I couldn't find anything else as flexible.

I used Renamer's search and replace function and searched for "djembe_" and replaced with "djembe_0" to fix that issue.

Any way, thought I'd pass along. I really eagerly await your adding drag and drop functionality to Sample Tank for working with loops. It would really be the icing on the cake!

Glad to have you here, as well. Hopefully you have read enough to know that my posts are almost always supportive and encouraging of all things IK. You just happened to join in right after I had been reminded of the naming conventions.

This GB is really taking off. I think it is now almost GUARANTEED that we are going to hit 7x1. I'm surprised at how much the pace picked up in the past couple of days after hitting 6x1. I've joined three times, and I already have my next 3 packs all picked out. ;-)

Oh zed I certainly see the constructive nature of your posts, the positivity too and it is great. This seems like a great forum. That says a lot for James Steele too, I most certainily don't want to tread badly into your forum, but I can't resist coming in while there's so much great conversation going on about our promotions and products. I like to see the specific tips, that's the wonderful part about a community that acts like a community. Awesome stuff.

Its always nice when developers chime in.
One thing I like to see in a future ST release is being able to re-size the screen.

Hi guys. I got in on this as well. Great buy!

Question...I already own ST 2.52. Is the New Fully Xpandable SampleTank 2.5 XT with 1GB of sounds the exact same instrument sets as what I have already? (I did buy the Sampletank sound package when I bought Sampletank a couple of years ago)

In other words, I don't need to install the 1 Gig of sounds that came with this group buy because I already have it, right?

Thanks for the help.

No. I believe this is a totally different sound set made up of stuff from several different SampleTank libraries (and separated into their respective folders). There is stuff from SampleMoog, Miroslav, eSoundz Xpansion packs, etc. You definitely want to download it and check out some of the instruments you don't have already. And if you do that soon, you'll still be able to choose particular Xpansion packs after you've tried some of the representative instruments from those folders.

Also SampleTank 2.5 XT is the exact same plugin and will replace your existing version if you install it. You don't have to install it, but it is the latest version (released last month). I actually downgraded (after installing it) because I was having an issue (which I don't recall at the moment). But in retrospect I think it probably had nothing to do with SampleTank at all.

In any case, uninstalling and reinstalling different versions of SampleTank is easy as pie. You simply reinstall overtop of whatever version you have installed (though I think you can also uninstall). Either way, your libraries and your ST preferences stay intact and the process takes less than 2 minutes.

Thanks, Zed-Master.

Looking at my user area, I see both XL and XT Free there, both versions being 2.5.4. I wonder what the difference is? Nothing, perhaps? If so, why would they both be there?

I've owned ST for a few yrs as well.
They only renamed it because it comes with a new library but its the same app.
There in there because of the registration.

Yeah... they are exactly the same. I actually have 6 SampleTank registrations/serial numbers in my user area. Like wylie said, that is ultimately just your registration and proof of purchase, and your link to the related downloads if there are any.

You can only have one version of SampleTank installed at the same time, so it doesn't matter which you install.

I purchase the GB through the IK site but have a question... For those who say they've "joined" twice or three times, is that so you can get 12 or 24 packs respectively (based on the 6x1)? And also, if that's the case, how do I "join" again? Would I just go back to IK's site and buy another one?

Thanks,
Rainmaker

I have to say I'm really liking the sounds but have one comment to add since I see an IK developer here amongst us... I too would love the screen to be adjustable as I'm having a bit of a hard time with some of the very small text on the gui.

Other than that, this was a great deal. I find the SampleTank layout much easier to use than Kontakt which I also own.

12 and 18 respectively. Yes, exactly. And it will be 7x1 almost for sure... so you'll get even more! :-)

Yep. Just go back to the IK site and buy another. If you have Jam Points, redeem $25 in Jam Points, copy the code and use it when you check out.

Ditto that! I think some of these interfaces are holdouts from when monitors that were 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 were the norm. They were bigger then. When you have a 30" monitor at 2560x1600 like I have (I saved up for a Dell a while back), everything gets smaller.
