It hasn't changed. You can use different versions of DP 5, as well.

But apparently with the latest installed MAS AudioUnit Support and other bundles (buggy or not) because there is only one each in the MAS Plugins folder.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the clarification, michkhol.

OK, just a few initial look comments. Now on to really digging into this update... Just wanted to point out that so far, it seems, MOTU has been listening, and have addressed a LOT of our comments on 6.01, and found time to sneak in other the features we hadn't even imagined.

P.S. I also have no idea what Stillwell is.
Thanks, Babz, for that detailed look at the improvements we've all been feeling and experiencing in DP, sometimes without really knowing quite what they are. You've turned the light in the right place. I need to take a look at that PDF.
Oh... and I have no idea what Stillwell plugs are, either.

What are all your plugs and V.I.'s Armageddon?

Whoops, didn't see this! Sorry! The project had five instances of Ministry Of Rock (PLAY, latest version), an instance of SampleTank 2.5, an instance of Sonik Synth 2, a B4 II, an FM8 and a PolySynth, on a MacBook 2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, Tiger 10.4.11. I haven't really messed with my audio plugs, yet, but as far as I can tell, they've at least all loaded, and that includes all the PSP Audioware stuff, Melodyne Bridge, IK T-RackS 1.x, CSR, Amplitude 2 and Jimi Hendrix, the WaveArts bundle and Ozone 3.
Now that I'm sufficiently paranoid, I'm planning on going through all my plugs and VIs tonight, just to make sure they're copacetic, and that still includes Minimonsta, ImpOSCar, Lounge Lizard, my Korg Legacy Digital plugs and VIs, Philharmonik, Predator and Albino. I'll drop you a line and let you know!

Have not read this thread but immediately while recording using record in out weird crap is happening like jumping out of record and it still crashes on MIDI editing. What could all this be about???

Just for the record, a few pages back, TimRiley said the Waves UltraMaximizer was crashing 6.02. Must be unique to his system or Waves installation. I tried all the Maximizers Waves makes (almost), and couldn't cause any trouble:
A truckload of Maximizers
Kind of a cool picture, actually. Not something you'd ever see in "real" life.

Hey Shoosh, sorry to report that I did experience a hard crash when instantiating UM. After restarting, I was able to instantiate it but I ended up removing it and using a different plug for other reasons. Haven't tested it out further.

I'm happy to report that I just went through all my plugs and VIs and pretty much everything seems to work. Unfortunately, 6.02 seems to share the problem for me that 6.01 had: it's not loading my audio driver on the first try, so I have to quit out of DP after opening it the first time and reopen it. Sigh.
All of my plugs and VIs seem to work as well as ever (I love the sub-foldering, nice touch!), although Albino caused me to "poof" after I messed around with a couple of presets. So DP is probably still a bit unstable. To test out the audio plugs, I set up an instance of PolySynth and just inserted effects on its track, then plonked a few keys on my Keystation Pro to hear the results.
The only plug I'm having a serious issue with is Korg's MDE-X effects; all the time-based effects, like reverb and delay, are clipping off the end of the notes being played through them, but considering how well everything else works, I have to assume this is a Korg problem, not a DP problem. I tried disabling pre-render for both PolySynth and MDE-X and ran those instances in real time, but got the same results (the dynamics and even the distortion plug work without clipping off the end of the notes, go figure). The M-1 and WAVESTATION VIs are running fine, so why it's happening on the effects, and just the time-based effects, is a mystery. Melodyne Bridge is working great for me, also.

DP 6.02 The "ALBINO" version of digital performer has illuminated the studio and the engineer is recommending everyone wear protective eyeglasses. Ultraviolet protection is not required but he recommends eye protection from DP's direct bright light!

Do you mind if I ask some questions? (Geez... I sound like the FBI) Just the facts, ma'am.

Are you running Intel or PPC? What version of Waves? And which "Maximizer" was it? There are the following that I know of:
L1 Limiter (says UltraMaximizer at the bottom, but is narrower than the other L1 UM)
L1 Ultra-Maximizer
L2 Ultra-Maximizer
L3 Ultra-Maximizer
L3 Multi-Maximizer
LL3 Ultra-Maximizer
LL3 Multi-Maximizer
LL16 Multi-Maximizer
I've tried every one of those except the last one (which is wayyy out of my price range). They're all working for me. Which one of those is crashing you? And The version? You can get the version by clicking where it says "Waves" Here:
And you'll get a window like this. Mine is version 6.0:
Can you think of anything else that could have caused it? I mean, when we start having trouble with Waves, it's bad news, because Waves rarely remembers that we even exist. "oh, Digital Performer? Is that a sequencer or something? You ought to use Logic." (one of their guys said that to me one time. Not in exactly those words: he knew what DP was. But the rest was pretty much verbatim.)
Anyway, I'm definitely curious as to what could be causing you to get a crash with DP6.02 and any Waves Plugin.
Thanks in advance for the info.

Didn't see any mention of an ongoing (since V5) problem in DP: The MIDI volume change/burst notes issue. I deal with this EVERY day, have been since V5.
Makes mixing so much fun....
Has anybody noticed this fixed?
Also, I experienced many window-drag crashes in 6.00, and VI screen-draw issues in 6.01--any improvement here?
I downloaded and updated 6.02 today--haven't really dug in yet...
Thanks,
Greg
