So, until MOTU says otherwise, it is still a possibility to me that DP 11 changes something under the hood that is used by DP 10, even if the "APP" is not altered. Just a heads up
Since they use a shared resources folder, this is to be expected but I haven't found anything in 10 that doesn't work now that 11 is installed. Frankly, I've not looked that hard.
One thing I did notice, as I dove in right away to test it out, was that (in Windows at least) the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol mk2 keyboards as a control surface implementation seems to have been delivered broken - the buttons play notes and the keys make things jump around! So, something is not right yet with the drivers (and I have the latest KK installed and an S-49 mk2 with the most current firmware).
How long since you've run Native Access? Over the last 5 days, I've seen 27 updates with Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt 6 each updating twice.

Apparently, it depends on how your tracks are set up. In one of the several posts on this bug, someone (I for get who - sorry) suggested that turning on automation alleviates the problem. As far as I can tell this is true. If the tracks in the VCA group are automation play enabled, the group seems to work as expected. Although some have suggested other modes of VCA failure that I haven't yet investigated.
As far as DP 11 is concerned, the VCA bug (when automation is off) still exists.

I ran it right away when it initially did not work. There was indeed an update to Komplete Kontrol, but even after a restart it was still not working as a control surface.

So I downloaded DP 11 and opened a project that I had been working on to try the bounce to disk thing.... of course as I expected, the bug that causes the BTD to pause, then restart happened again... only once during the BTD but still annoying. I'm running under Catalina but plan to upgrade the OS now and try it again. Time to donate my $195 to the MOTU fund.... actually all kidding aside, i still love DP and it will be my only DAW going forward. Tried Logic and hated it instantly.

I just exported a movie w/audio....yay!

Plus, I'm thrilled that MOTU's software works so well on my 'old' systems (2009 MacPro 5.1 and 2015 MacBookPro both running OSX High Sierra)

Everything is great, fast, 'snappy'; and still using my original Traveler mk1 interface I bought in 2005.

Not very many companies can boast of support like that for their products.

Sure, I'm missing out on a 'newer version' of CueMix and don't have the built-in audio effects like all their other Audio/MIDI interfaces have, but it still sounds great and has never had a problem.

FYI.

Except it definitely is not for me. A lot of things seem incrementally slower for me, including Saves, which seem to take noticeably longer on the smallish project I’m working on.

So I gave DP11 a torture test under Big Sur. No problems so far. All of my plugins except one (the AU version of UAD's DreamVerb) are working. The VST version of DreamVerb, however, does work. All of the old projects that I've tried opened and played fine.
Onward and upward!

Tried it with 10.13.6 and it felt smoother and more immediate, like it is wide awake. Maybe that's the same as snappier. No new problems so far.

Has anyone tried out the new controller plugins in DP 11? Is it time to put a stake through the heart of the long suffering iOS DP Control app?

I gave it a workout with my Arturia Keylab 88mkII. Way more compatible than DP10 (I never could get DP 10 to jog or shuttle), but there are a few oddities that still remain, such as metronome control. I was solidly in the Mackie domain though (MCU and HUI), as that's all the KL88 supports. I gave up on iOS controllers a while back, as sometime around OS10.13, WiFi connections with with MacOS MIDI Networks became horrendously unreliable.

Interesting you would mention this. I also find Mac OS wifi with anything, not just MIDI, in fact, networking in general has become pretty much useless with OS 10.13. It seems to have got worse with each so called "security" update. On a LAN with units running 10.13, 10.14 and 10.15, the two more recent versions work fine.

I've decided to buy it tonight based on the feedback here so far. It seems very low-risk to current projects. Otherwise I'd wait a while, as I'm about to head east (sometime by end of month) due to my Dad's condition, and may be off-line and inactive production-wise for a few weeks. I haven't seen family since OCT 2019 and there have been MANY deaths since then.

Anyway, I also wanted to comment that I am really amazed that DP11 is free to anyone who bought DP10 from 1 March 2021 onwards. That seems a more generous time window than most vendors offer -- especially as DP11 wasn't even announced or hinted at in advance, as far as I know. But I've been so tied up all calendar year with another coast-to-coast hop, non-stop interviews, and independent contracting, that I've likely missed stuff.

No problems so far, and the list view fonts are a relief for these tired old eyes.
