Looks like the page is still there today, Sunday, so maybe the deadline is a tad flexible. Perhaps through the weekend. It is tempting... especially after Shooshie's review. I already own the Analog TrackBox, but stopped using it in favor of my UAD-1 stuff because it was the "new toy." I also have Liquid Mix. I'm fighting the temptation because at a certain point, I probably have more plugs than knowledge.

As an aside: Having a multitude of plugs makes me wish MOTU would let us create some user-defined plug-in sorting scheme.

I too have jumped on this sight unseen...but my arsenal was only what I had from MOTU, so it sounds like a great package to start with.

My engineering experience was always based on the use of outboard gear. It was only recently that I revamped my studio and pretty much dumped it all. I didn't have anything incredible, just lots of if.

Thanks to the forum for bringing this great offer to my attention and chiming in with your experience and expertise.

Cheers!

I spent about an hour pondering this very point. Part of it was just me getting down on myself for my own perceived shortcomings. What I found with the Nomad plugs was exactly what everyone else found: great presets for benchmarks and astonishing improvements where such an approach for a lot of other plugins might make things worse right out of the box.

The Nomad 1081 was probably modeled on the Neve 1081, but I gotta say that the Nomad 1081 is simply easier to use than the UAD-Neve 1081.

I'm finding plenty of room for both UAD and Nomad, but I can probably understand the feeling of having "too many plugins of the same ilk" if I had a Liquid Mix as well.

It seems that the third-party plugins nest themselves into their own folders. Checking the plugins folder, I see all components listed in one menu even where the inserts show folders for Universal, Nomad, etc.-- But nesting plugins into folders is possible, I know. I just can't remember how off the top of my head.

I'd like to reorganize mine by brand and then again by type-- unless there's some sort of limitation with directory levels.

I definitely need to nest those MAS plugins.

I took the plunge. I couldn't agree more. Great presets right out of the box. The time frame was extended to 12 midnight western time. Good drums now sound like mmm!!! Download the demo. After just trying out two different plugs I was sold.

It's really cool to see so many people respond so favorably.

+1
the funny thing as I am the OP,I have been trying to resist the urge to get this bundle and after hearing all of these positive reactions,I am starting to give up the the battle and I am leaning towards grabbing this tonight (since they extended the deadline).
Honestly I wasn't knocked out by the Nomad plugs I got 3 years ago so I am trying to figure out(rationalize) if the new versions are that much better than their earlier plugs, or if I didn't understand how to use these plugs correctly and or if the added plugs that are not in Studio Pro Bundle are that worth the $249 upgraded price.
decisions, decisions, decisions.............

When I went to register the purchased version. I can't seem to get the challenge codes. Do I need to uninstall and redownload. If I use the demo reauthorize it tells me it is already authorized to run on this machine. :?: Any ideas?

That's a very interesting question. I take it you've demo'd the new bundle? Have you done any side-by-side comparisons.

I was snooping around the other to see if there was any sort of update notes. The Blue Tubes and the Pulse Tec are new, but I'm not sure if they've fine-tuned the others for this release or left them the same. Hmm.

The demo version required response codes, but after I bought it I put in the serial number (in the system ID box) and they sent a note saying to wait for the iLok authorization to arrive in my iLok account.

If you don't have iLok, try the other Hard Disk Authorization and not the Demo Authorization. I've already forgotten the sequence of events when registering the Demo version, but I can't imagine that the regular HD Auth would be much different-- except that your response codes would naturally be different.

I had the same problem. I tried a few times and eventually got it. I think I may have been reading the instructions incorrectly or my registration took a while to get. Eventually it let me get the code. It might be that your registration needs to be blessed by a human. They sometimes take their time doing things... especially with the whole damn forum buying up the plugs now. LOL.

You do need to authorize the full version. This page at the Nomad site says to control-command double-click the authorizer to get it to give you a challenge code, but it didn't work for me.

http://www.nomadfactory.com/support/qa/ ... _demo.html

I emailed them and they said to try doing this while right clicking and then choose 'open'. What worked for me was holding down the mouse while control-command clicking, which gave the pop-up menu from which I could select 'open.'

However, before receiving their reply, I'd found out that I could authorize my desktop using an iLok and my laptop with a disk auth, and decided to do that. So I didn't actually select 'open' and see if it gave me the challenge code. Try it!

I went ahead and did the iLok, and the authorization was available within minutes. I copied the installers over to my MBP and did that via disk authorization. Easy!

Seems Frodo and I share one part of our brains. I think we were identical twins separated at birth. Amazing what a slightly different environment will do to a body... :)

no i haven't downloaded the demo's, as I have been trying to resist purchasing this
my other suspicion is that I didn't understand how to use these plugs correctly.
I also wonder if there are any Studio Pro bundle users who just did this upgrade w/ the additional newer plugs by themselves actually worth the $249 upgraded price?
thanks

It looks like this deal may be extended for a while. I ended up denting my credit card again. I also requested an iLok license and got it deposited to my iLok.com account within an hour so I'm good to go now too. Wouldn't surprise me since tomorrow is a holiday for some that this might be good until Tuesday morning.
