I just finished my first project from start to finish in 6.02. Composed, recorded, bounced to WAV and QuickTime. Here are some notes:
Positives:
1 - It does seem 'snappier' overall. I was working with all plugs in real time.
2 - *most* plugs worked well, including: Metric Halo Channel Strip, Kontakt 2, Omnisphere, RMX, Altiverb, Ozone 4, etc.
Negatives:
1 - Stillwell plugs don't work (can't turn the knobs). Worked in 6.01
2 - Still crashed a few times when tracking and mixing. Same as 6.01, maybe a few less crashes in 6.02
3 - Can not remove Eucon support from 'control surfaces'. DP crashes every time. New project, old project, doesn't matter. Worked in 6.01.
4 - The first time I instantiated the Waves Ultramaximizer, the entire computer seized up hard. No mouse, nothing. Had to power off. First time that has ever happened to me in DP.
5 - Bouncing to a Core WAV export crashed once. Successful all the other times. Never had this problem in 6.01.
6 - Sometimes, creating a Similar Track with the keyboard shortcuts doesn't work. Clicking around and changing Window Sets somehow fixes this (until it happens again).
7. The audio playback meter was pegging out when I was mixing. This was a smaller project than many, with fewer plugs. Maybe 25 stereo tracks, but not that much going on. Buffer at 1024 with a multiplier of 1 when mixing. (Using only one audio interface.)
8. Once, I had a strange problem where my MIDI outputs drop-down list started collecting blank entries. I would haft to scroll down forever to get to my actual MIDI devices to assign channels. I was able to save my project, open it back up, and I didn't see the problem again. We'll see if it happens next project.
I did not see the problem with RMX or other VI's not showing up in the Bundles window. That all worked fine, and I was able to use multi-outs. Maybe this is normal for MAS VI's, but BPM just shows DP's busses; the multi-outs don't show up in the Bundles window. But that's no big deal, it's easy enough to figure out the bus numbers I want to use.
Overall, I got through the session. Still way too many hassles. Wish it were a different story.
