Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
I love the V-Rack idea. PLEASE make it independent of the Mixing Board. Imagine.....being able to see your master level at all times AND flip around to indivdual tracks on another board. OOOOOOH!!!!

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
Making comparisons, straight off I have worse performance, which is disappointing. I have been working on a piece with 13 tracks all stereo with Battery 2 multimode filter para eq 3xBlockfish MW EQ and an automated supatrigga (bypass) and under 4.52 on Tiger 10.4.1 with 680MB RAM on my iBook 1GHZ it plays with some processor spiking but no warnings on processor overload(this is turned on in the prefs) but under 4.6 i have more spikes and warnings very quickly. I will continue to tweak and see what i can do about it.

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
Okay so simply the automation of Bram suppa trigga (bypass) causes CPU overload in 4.6 if I leave the bypass alone it copes fine.
I will now get to have a play around after I print and cut and paste, commitment is after all a good thing.

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
After successfully working on a file for an hour or so, I crashed in the middle of editing pitch automation on a soundbite. I reopened the file and it crashed almost immediately as I began editing the same bite. Now the file won't open at all without crashing. It will start to load my EWQL Gold patches, then crash.
Not sure what happened. Maybe DP's preferences got corrupted or something.

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
I haven't messed with the pitch stuff yet, but I did grab the freebie Dashboard Turner Off'er thing and it made no difference in the spikes. 4.6 will spike while sitting idle actually.
One very good thing though, several hours of tracking and editing, without a crash. Plenty of spikes, but no crashing.
Tried the Pattern gate - Very nice and works like a charm for that dancey trancey type thing.
As for the V-Rack, it's great for FX chains and the like, but almost useless for hosting VI's because you can't freeze anything in a V-rack. Whoops... did we forget something here
All in all, it's been stable, a bit more heavy on the ol' CPU, spikey, but it's running just fine if I knock the buffer up a notch. Sticking with 4.5 for now though, unless I need the pitch thingy.
I may also give it a try under 10.3.X and see if that helps the spiking issue. Tiger is cool, but it doesn't offer me anything I need really.

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
Installed last night and worked all day today in 4.6. Had a little weirdness at first with some vi's but for the most part it ran fine during the 7 hour session. I didn't delete any prefs like I usually do so might try that at some point if I really have problems. Really like the new pitch feature. Kind of nice to use that with autotune. You can fix the big problems in dp and do an overall quick fix with autotune.
Question on multiple outs: I have Kontakt 2 and stylus rmx showing up in the instruments bundles as having mult. outs but don't know how to "see" them. Any ideas?

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
Can you route the output of the VI back into the main sequence on an aux track and freeze that? I hardly ever use the freeze tracks function, so excuse me if that's a stupid question.Originally posted by Big Daddy:

Do they not show up in the input pulldowns for audio and aux tracks under "New Stereo/Mono Bundles?"Originally posted by daveyboy:

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
Can you uninstall 4.6 update? I am still on 4.5 but would like to give 4.6 a try, but is there a way to revert... can I "save" my current 4.5 files and revert to them in case 4.6 give me trouble... is there a set of directories or files I need to save to be able to revert back? anyone done this?
thanks!

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
The update made a new 4.6 directory and left the 4.5 stuff intact for me.

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
4.6 is definitely less happy than 4.52. I get A LOT of random error messages popping up with no plugins telling me to increase my buffer size (1024). Thats on a dual 2.0 g5, with no widgets running. Not quite there imo.

Re: DP 4.6 IS OUT
I am starting to see a pattern on the boards of processor spikes and crashes alongside people running DP 4.6 under Tiger. I am running on 10.3.9 and have not seen any spikes and have not crashed yet on anything.
Maybe its just me...or am I wrong?

Blue, I just had that today with 4.52 & 10.3.9.Originally posted by blue:

Launches but crashes while loading 1st Call Horns.
After many different tries I opened a "new" file from DP then "LOADED" the Seq. Somehow because the new file had no audio outs in bundle, 1st Call wasn't crashing out the program. DP sometimes corrupts files, the Load function can sometimes straighten them out.
