This is pretty cool. Of course, it’s easy to recreate using a delay but I like the one-control approach. Sometimes it’s nice t have an effect that just does one thing pretty well. Sure can’t knock the price.

Watch the demo vid.

PSP 44%

Post by bayswater »

Because the founders of PSP have both just turned 44, they are offering 44% off on all the PSP plugins including bundles. (They ask that we not wait until they turn 100)

It seemed to do nothing, but then I scrolled down and there it was.

On TG, I left Waves support a question about versions: since Waves has moved on to V10, can this new plugin work on a setup that's still using Waves 9. Anyone know?

Waves' "Personal Plugin-day Deals"

Post by monkey man »

Yes it can, Stoivo.

Be warned 'though, that some folks had a Helluva time running the two alongside each other. Waves support typically would spend hours reinstalling everything with those peeps to no avail.

IIRC they inevitably had to download offline V9 installers and reinstall said-version plugs. Some were even given a script / tiny routine by Waves which worked in some instances.

If I can find the thread (GS) I'll link to it, but I actually looked for it earlier today with no luck.

Lastly, IMHO, it's best to WUP everything, using the cap, and to do it immediately-following a plugin purchase. That way everything's covered for the maximum amount of time; the WUP period begins for all plugins based upon your most-recent purchase date, if I'm not mistaken.

OK, I've tried reloading the page and scrolling (trying to - there's nothing to scroll), Stoivo, but no dice. Guess I'll have to miss out on whatever today's offerings are for me.

Maybe tomorrow...

As you say, Waves verified that you can run V9 and V10 at the same time. But they pointed out that using HS, you need V9.92 of the Waves installer, which may account for the problems some have had.

So I bought it. My goal has been to get off Waves plugins entirely, but they keep coming up with an occasional gem. Damn them.

As for Wupping, it costs 2-3 times what I paid for the plugins. If I ever want to go to V10 on those I still use, I think it would be cheaper to just buy them again at one of the no brainer sales.

bx Stem Limiter $39

Post by Rick Cornish »

Brainworx Stem Limiter on sale for $79 (regularly $160) with a an additional, limited time voucher which brings the price down to $39.

Go here: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... miter.html

In your cart, add voucher code: VIP-bx-lmtr-3924

(BTW: the voucher was supposed to expire yesterday, but I just tried it and it still worked for me. YMMV)

I know, so do I really need another limiter? This one has a few features—variable stereo link, mix (parallel), saturation—that might make it different enough that it would be worth $39 to own it. I’ve always liked bx plugins. Still thinking about it.

Waves' "Personal Plugin-day Deals"

Post by monkey man »

Well, the Waves page wouldn't show my deals at all, and I've tried to see them every day.

I just received a notice that the sale is about to end, and when I click on the link now, I see Waves has added a statement recommending one disables ad-blocking plugins if the deals don't appear. Sure enough, there they are now, so obviously a bunch of folks must've experienced the same issue.

Anyway, what a waste of time that was. I assume the personal deals are different for everyone, but honestly, mine were crap. Not great plugins, and the discounts were nothing to write home about either.

My recommendation to Waves:
Stick with the rolling $29 deals, and you can't go wrong. Less work for you and fantastic for us, which translates to awesome-for-you...

Rick, AFAIK we're not supposed to share VIP or Heavy-Hitter vouchers.

It became an issue for PA and IIRC the company tweaked its code so that theoretically every voucher now only works with its intended customer. General-public promotions are a different story, of course.

The move was obviously made in the interest of fairness; those who spend the most receive the greatest discounts, and it's split into 3 basic tiers, as you probably know.

Hope you're well, matey!

Plugin Alliance Loyalty Vouchers

Post by Rick Cornish »

If you're a Plugin Alliance customer (www. plugin-alliance.com), look for an email from them with the subject line "YOUR VOUCHER from Plugin Alliance for this month is here" with a code for a $25 off the price of one of their plugs.

It enabled me to grab a $79 plugin, which was already on sale for $29, for just $4. (Apparently, the voucher works in addition to other vouchers—at least it did for me.) Vouchers are personalized and only work once, so it wouldn't work for me to post my voucher code here, but if you're a customer, you probably received one.

Good deal.

90% Discount on bx_meter ($10 thru 11/13)

Post by Rick Cornish »

Just got a notice on some early Black Friday deals, including a 90% discount on the excellent bx_meter. This is a great meter that shows dynamics, peak, and RMS level as well as balance and correlation; and can be run in Stereo, link, or M/S modes with three weighting options (A, C, and Steven Katz’s K-level). This goes far beyond any meter that’s included with DP. I use on every mix. Normally $99, it’s $10 through 11/13.
