10,000 visits to site. Starting to figure out "tiers" donation setup today. Gotta buy RapidWeaver for more pages to spread stuff out a bit. Time to get serious. :)

Don't mean to be a tease, gal ;) Just getting a little busy lately.

Need some help. Just moved from DP 7.02 to 7.1, and have succesfully moved our editor background colors to where we had them before in 7.02, but the backdrop for the tracks overview window is still darker than we would like. Anyone know which item in the 'default style.xml' controls that? (speaking of the the area behind the data blobs.) In DP 7.02 it was way lighter than now.

Thanks!!!

Do you have the reference guide? It's all in there.

Might there be a more recent one than the one we have Andy? I am seeing way more items to edit in the 7.1 supplemental folders' DefaultStyle.xml colors area than in DP7.02's. Date on ours is Jan 2010 looks like.

Thanks

Amolidood:

Quick question.

I'm loving and enjoying your Night Green mod. I have only noticed one problem with it: in the main counter window, when you select to see Markers (as the secondary read), they are not visible. They appear almost as dark as the background.
At first I thought something was wrong with DP, but after zooming in there, I would see the markers VERY faintly.

Is there a way this could be fixed?
It would be great if they could have the same color as whatever you see at the left for the main reader (measure, frames, etc.).

This happens in the Sleek mod, and in the regular Night mod as well.

I don't know if this has been mentioned here before. If so, I apologize.

Or is there a way I can correct this myself?

Thanks!

An unfortunate downside to the dark counter windows. I cannot change the font (or its color) that is used for the Markers, or the Large Counter. I'll have to wait to see if MOTU decides to open this parameter up.

Oh, Ok. I didn't know that. Hopefully they will open up completely soon!

No big deal. I was just wondering about that.

It's over guys. MOTU's not going to call. The fact I could get donations like I did is still amazing to me. All you that donated are amazing. But it's not going to ever be enough for me to continue with this anymore. MOTU made it very clear that charging outright for these things would bring the hammer down on me, so I'm just going to have to bow out. The demands of life and time are becoming far too great and I barely have the energy to deal with what has to be done.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement during this process. Hopefully I can grow the right side of my brain to help support the starving left side better.

Don't worry, my PayPal donation for US $1 million should help get you to at least the next update. And don't worry about MOTU. I'm sending them a PayPal donation for US $10 million which should at least get them through the beta stage of DP8 if they don't go out and blow it on another piece of pro-video gear for the iPad and iPhone. I could stipulate that they call you and share it with you, but I'd rather it be their idea. Maybe if I keep donating they'll eventually get the idea. Yeah. That's the ticket.

Ok, I guess it's not a joke.

In which case, this is very distressing. This has been a huge renaissance for me with DP. I already was deeply indebted to it for all that it has done for me over the past 20 some-odd years, but I didn't really like the DP 6/7 interface. Design-wise, it wasn't bad, but color wise, it just wasn't what I wanted to be staring at all day. Amplidude's mods have made it better than wonderful again. I darn sure hope that people from MOTU are reading this, because I've been one of your biggest boosters for most of those 25 years. I promise, you've sold hundreds, if not thousands of copies because of my demonstrations to people who went on and did the same, and so on. People I know still thank me for getting them into DP back "when it mattered" and are glad to be with it now. I don't mean to play up my self-importance. That means nothing. My purpose here is to say that someone has tossed MOTU a bone for a change, and there's been no official show of appreciation. Amplidude's mods should be on page one of the MOTU website. I've never found anything that made DP so fantastic to use. I'm a long-time MIDI/audio/music-performing pro who's made a small fortune on DP, so colors shouldn't matter, right? Just the green it puts in my bank account, right? But I just learned that this makes me happy. When I use the several mods that I have in my dock, it makes me happy. This is creative software, and these customized colors make me very happy to open it up every day. That promotes better work from me. If you guys haven't learned that much about software in the 26 years of the Macintosh, then you've seriously not been paying attention. People LOVE skin-able software. People love customization. It has a lot of practical purposes, too.

If Amplidude throws in the towel, I'm going to be one depressed MOTU-citizen. I thought MOTU were making it easier for us with the "Substitutions" folder in the Resources folder. I thought maybe that was going to lead to an announcement. Some kind of official support. Understand, I'm not down on MOTU; just disappointed that something SO wonderful is being bypassed without a word. If something can make me this excited about using software that I've been using since basically about 1986, plus Composer before that, then there is something very special about that.

Sorry about the rant, but this is a very special topic, it's been very good for all of us who have downloaded these mods for ourselves, and I think it has drawn some much-needed positive attention to DP. This has been one of the best things to happen to DP at a very much-needed time. Don't let it fizzle. That would be a mistake. Plain and simple. A mistake. Do you know how painful it is to sit and have to watch someone make a perfectly preventable mistake? This is one of those times. It doesn't have to be.
