About to upgrade computer

Just looking for opinions on upgrading at this time... looking at G5 Quad but all this talk of new Intel Towers has me wondering if putting up with my current "Dark Ages" setup a bit longer will pay off... I'm a professional that uses this as a creative tool daily and one of the main reasons for the timing of this retooling is the fact that I have down time coming up... Any thoughts???

Since your system is critical to your livelihood, I would definitely wait until all reports are in on compatibility with the elements of your set up (you don't list any here), unless... you buy the computer now and run it along side your working set up as you spec it out. Make sure everything works and is compatible. That's what I did back when I made the jump from OS9 to X. It took several weeks to find and implement all of the software/hardware updates and drivers. Some I had to wait for a release. When everything was humming and I felt comfortable, I took a weekend and officially made the big switch. Seemless. Good luck!
