You're kidding right?? If not, I'm holding off...
Not kidding. MachFive crashes it every time.

All of my other third party VIs and plug-ins appear to load and work (e.g., Atmosphere, Blue, Stormdrum, FabFilter, EW Gold, etc.).

hmmm strange.. are you guys using M5 v1.2.3?

I've just been playing around with Mach5, adding new ones, etc.. with no issues...

could it be the iLok for you? I update Altiverb before I ran dp5.1 maybe it also updated the iLok stuff..just a guess..

I doubt it, not until the install base of PPC shrinks to a small percentage, which is going to take a couple of years at least. Remember the folks buying G5's now are not going to EOL those machines for several years.

loaded M5 and it seemed good, I could play the little on screen keys, tried to play a MIDI track and DP crashed. tried again, same thing. tried again (because the 3rd time is oh so charming) and it works fine.

things I did different the 3rd time;
swtich MIDI track and played a different instrument to make sure it was working, then switched back. also clicked on "streaming". did both before I hit play with M5 running.

I don't know the exact magic sequence but that's what I got. I can now delete and open new M5's and it works.

oh, oh ,oh, I did notice that after you crash twice the dialog says something about "try to reopen with defaults" or something like that. so I did. I don't know if that's anything either.

Aha! I was using 1.22, as the published changes applied to Logic and plugin specs I dont use only. So I never bothered with the update to 1.2.3. Just did the update and it fixed the problem!

One possible glitchy: when I ran the updater it didn't appear to change the version of the M% MAS bundle, so I ended up uninstalling and then reinstalling from the updater. Don't know if that helped, as I wasn't scientific enough to test it with the updater run but no apparent change in the bundle.

Thanks for the idea, RCory!

Hey guys....is 5.1 "snappier" ??? Sorry - couldn't resist. I can't believe a post about a new DP update made it to 4 pages without the word "snappier" being used. :o

Thanks guys

Good call, Rcory (and others chiming in)!

I thought I'd installed M5 1.2.3 a while back, but when I checked a 1.2.2 version was opening in DP 5.01. I looked in my components and MAS folders and found M5 bundles with older dates. So, I cleared them out, reinstalled 1.2.3 (thus replacing old bundles with new ones) and now things seems to be fine with M5 and DP 5.1.

Look, the Colonel is smiling.

Thanks, man!

Unfortunately, I'm still S.O.L. with the other USB apps, but supposedly their soon-to-be-released new Plugsound will take care of that (and add more functionality to these VIs).

Trying to figure out how to justify upgrading my old copy of 2.7..... I already own Logic 7 and Live 5......but I can't resist, DP5 looks really good! UB out, macbook hungry!

OK got it! a few old songs have been sitting around waiting for DP to update them...
M2 Studio Ultra, RME Babyface FS, Slate Raven Mti2, NI SL88 MKII, Linnstrument, MPC Live II, Launchpad MK3. Hundreds of plug ins.
