Well, after a couple laps around the pool.....I can say this is the coolest DP update ever. V-Racks will change my life. I haven't even looked at the pitch correction yet. But the coolest part, the "More Cowbell" click setting :D :D :D

THEY FINNALLY FIXED THE MULTIPLE MIXDOWN ISSUE! YEAH!

Enhanced multiple mixdowns

Digital Performer••™s Mix Mode menu in the Mixing Board lets you create, save, edit and switch between multiple mixdowns of your project. For example, you could create several completely different mixes of the same sequence. A mix consists of all the volume, pan, plug-in and other mix automation data in all the tracks of the sequence, as well as all of the current plug-ins inserted on tracks. This feature has been enhanced to include the following initial track settings (regardless of whether there is currently any automation data in the track):

Track volume
Pan
Send levels
Send mute states
Track automation mode
Track play-enable/disable state

By adding these track attributes to each saved mixdown, the Mix Mode menu now provides complete independence among separate mixes, even if they don••™t have any automation data in them. For example, you could simply set initial volume and pan settings for each track, create a mix, duplicate it, adjust the faders and then switch back and forth between the two mixes. You can then freely switch between them, comparing the fader settings, without the need to insert or print any automation data. In general, you will find it much easier to create and use multiple mixdowns with this feature.

This is awesome, what with Summer NAMM right around the corner in Indianapolis. Anyone else gonna be there? I'll definitely have to watch the demoes of this.

I just updated to 4.6 from 4.52 and am having trouble getting my virtual instruments to load. A small box appears that says EWQL Gold in a few pull down menus, but the Kompakt window doesn't open. Because of this, I am unable to load any instruments. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've only tested the Pitch Automation thing, and MAN! How cool! Whatta tool! They way you can draw crazy automation envelopes with sine or saw or square patterns just blows my mind. EFX city! Plus, gentle pitch correction on simple vocal trax seems to sound very good.

Excellent!

Multiple outs with BFD & XFL? Now I can do drums exclusievely with DP. Now one sequencer for all my needs. Cool. I'm going to try it out right now.

I'm having the same problem as James III. I can no longer load any of my VI's.
Any thoughts.

I have not tried this yet...(or installed the 4.6 update yet)...but I would venture to bet that you are using AU versions of the VIs? Perhaps with the new and improved multiple outs for AU plugins...something changed with the AU.component file. So perhaps we should delete our AU cache file and let performer rescan all of our AU plugins. Just a hunch. Try that and see if the V.I's start loading then.

on the vi issue, make sure that the instrument track is assigned to a valid output. maybe something got screwy with your outputs during the upgrade - if the output is italicized then the vi would instantiate but not show its panel (just as you describe)

Also...on this page here it shows the VIs situated in what looks like the audio bundles window. Perhaps we need to set up ("add") the outputs for out VIs now...like we do for out hardware ins and outs. I am downloading now and will play with it tonight.

Just installed it. Things look very good. I can't wait to see if there has been any overall performance enhancement--i.e., no more pops or clicks.

As for autotuning... maybe I can finally get my piano up to 440 without breaking any strings! :D
