Apple CPU Names- confusing?

Post by Frodo »

We understand what a Dual Core is. We understand what a Core Duo is. Seems to me that there could be some marketing confusion here---

unless the Dual Core (quad) as a term and as a CPU config will never be seen again even with Intels...?

Any thoughts?

A single chip can have 2 processor cores on it. A computer can have more than one single or dual processor chip. I can't wait for the first six pack, or maybe a case of cores?

How about getting rid of SATA and other spin-up hard drives in favor of affordable RW chip sets that can be added to like RAM. This would be among the most effective computer advances in ages. Just imagine-- near-instant loading of apps, docs, audio, movies, and streaming samples!
