Cool Air Duster on Amazon

Post by James Steele »

Just wanted to share this. Not sure where I read about this. I think it was recommended by some YouTuber. Normally it's a little pricey at $69 but there are two coupons right now that will drop the price to about $45. I got one and it seems pretty useful for dusting off the front plates of various rack mount gear as well as other surfaces with knobs and buttons, etc.

I've used it on my Avid S3, but not sure if it wouldn't be better if it were actually a vacuum instead of something that blows air... especially with faders? I think too late for me to return if I wanted to. Maybe I'll search for similar unit that vacuums as well.

I've been using a similar unit for a while. Not quite as powerful as a canned gas duster, but doesn’t freeze up and is much cheaper in the long run. The smallest tip seems to be the most effective.

I don’t recommend a mini vacuum-way too weak. Instead, I'd get a mini attachment that fits on a full size vac.

This one seems pretty strong. Good thing as you alluded to is that it doesn't leave condensation or make things cold![/quote]

That looks cool. I think my full size vacuum is an old Hoover upright that doesn't have a place for attachments. Hmmm... maybe I'll have to get a new vacuum for that. As I said, I worry about blowing dust INTO faders... whereas it should probably be vacuumed OUT.
