State of play with MPE?

Post by BKK-OZ »

Just wondering what people are (or are not) doing with MPE in DP, but also which controllers are preferred.

I have only recently started to think about how I might use MPE, but I don’t really know where it’s at, nor where it might be going.
Cheers,
BK

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

I use it with a Roli Seaboard Rise49 v1. Seems to work great with me. I haven't done anything particularly advanced with it since switching to DP11, but it's far easier than hacking together MPE with DP10, that was a nightmare. I have yet to dive in and try to edit individual channel data, though. Recently, I've mostly been doing fiddle and sax mockups, monophonic stuff that's not really particularly complicated from a MIDI standpoint.
