Digital Performer 11.32

Post by cuttime »

Enhancements introduced in version 11.32

Enhancements and optimizations
• Add a DP preference for importing MIDI data as clips.
• Optimized meter and wiper drawing on macOS, potentially reducing graphical lag issues with plugins and other applications when playing large projects with significant meter activity visible.
• Optimized drawing for counter pane updates.
• Changed overdub behavior in touch mode for pedal-based CC's (Sustain, Portamento, Sostenuto, Soft Pedal, Legato Footswitch, Hold 2) to respect "on" and "off" messages as the overdub start and end triggers.
• Added a preference in Automation Setup to preserve existing pedal events in overdub mode.
• Updated Run Command to be more forgiving when searching for terms while running under the Spanish localization. This makes it easier to search for commands and terms containing diacriticals without requiring the user to enter the exact character.

Fixes
• Updated Spanish and German localizations.
• Fixed some visual glitches in the Spanish version of the Event List Window.
• Fixed a bug causing icons for the RPN/NRPN filters not to show up in the Event List filter section on Windows.
• Fixed a crash that could occur when dragging a missing effect.
• Fixed a crash that could occur when VST2 plugins which support both sidechain outs and speaker arrangements are newly analyzed and instantiated.
• Fixed a display glitch that could result in CC control points on MIDI tracks seeming to disappear when being added on a flat line in lines mode.
• Fixed a bug that would cause the clips window faders to get cut off when using a fixed fader height setting in the mixing board.
• Fixed an "out of range" error when trying to open the Set Articulation dialog with an empty track selection.
• Fixed a bug causing send readouts on MCU-based controllers to always display the name of the first send even when a different one is selected by scrolling.
• Fixed a bug that could cause lyric entry in QS to behave erratically under certain conditions where no tracks are selected.
• Fixed a graphical glitch that could happen when scrolling clips in the MIDI Editor which only display in the median strip.
• Fixed a crash that could occur under certain conditions when deleting a track with multiple MIDI Editor windows open.
• Fixed an issue displaying single-character markers in the MIDI Editor and Sequence Editor on macOS.
• Fixed an error that would be thrown when loading a project containing VCA faders in MIDI Only mode.
• Fixed a VST3 bug that could result in automation settings not recalling correctly on project load (fixes Softube Console 1 automation loading).
• Adjusted Windows pinch-to-zoom behavior to more closely match other applications.
• Fixed an issue where nudging notes would just delete the notes. Also addresses an issue where deleting a single duplicated event would cause all identical events to be deleted.
• Fixed an issue where very long notes would sometimes not be draggable.
• Fixed a crash undoing after using the Add Similar command on multiple instrument tracks.
• Fixed a crash when selecting "on/off" mode while adding a button to a custom console.
• Fixed a bug where vertically dragging and scrolling notes would cause the notes to end up at the wrong pitch.
• Fixed a crash that could occur when using the MIDI Editor to modify MIDI data containing QuickScribe-specific settings.
• Fixed a bug causing MIDI note drag box highlights to be colored incorrectly in the Sequence Editor when multiple tracks are visible.
• Restored the "Set selection start/end to counter" behavior of creating an insertion point when the new start or end would create an invalid selection range.
• Restored the previous behavior of creating a zero-length cycle when linking memory times to selections and creating an insertion point.
• Fixed a bug that would cause memory times to reset incorrectly when creating an insertion point while memory times are linked to selection.
• Fixed a bug where looped clips might draw incorrectly in the Sequence Editor if the clip start point is set to the loop end point.
• Fixed a bug where the "Open" button in the welcome window might not work when running in Spanish.
• Fixed a EUCON crash on quit that would occur after opening insert parameters.
• Fixed a bug where the result of editing MIDI CC data in lines mode would not match the visual preview.
• Fixed a bug where doing copy/pasting a time range selection within the clip editor would not produce the correct result.
• Fixed a bug that could result in incorrect results when using Audition Selection or BTD with partial selections of clips in tracks.
• Fixed a bug causing the mixer to resize incorrectly when opening the track selector while the mixer is on a secondary display.
• Fixed a bug causing issues creating insertion points from the time ruler.
• Fixed an issue that could result in repeated, consecutive notes on the same pitch not sounding in third-party VI plugins when played back at certain tempos.
• Fixed a bug causing "Move Selection to Next Event" to skip the next event.
• Fixed a bug causing "Move Selection To Next/Previous Event" to ignore clips.
• Fixed a bug on Mac that could cause plugin windows not to open correctly.
• Worked around a bug in Arturia VI plugins causing an audible glitch when playing in pre-gen mode if the sounding notes begin too close to the start of playback.
• Fixed a glitch and potential crash when using View Selection in Sequence Editor to view a selection of track takes without selecting the parent track.
• Fixed a visual glitch in the "Start" button in the Find Tempo from Locked Markers window that appeared in certain themes.
• Fixed a potential crash that could occur when opening the mini-menu in the Sequence Editor for an individual audio take track.

NICE!

Looks like we are all gonna' like this one.

UPDATE: Installed, testing... so far so good and definitely fixed a couple of bugs I'd been dealing with for some time. Feeling like my timing moving to Sonoma just yesterday is right on the mark!

Is this the one that got a lot of attention here?

Fixed an issue that could result in repeated, consecutive notes on the same pitch not sounding in third-party VI plugins when played back at certain tempos.

Judging by what you're saying and the length of the list it looks like MOTU's come up with the goods.

Well-done and thank you beloved MOTU! :headbang:

I just did a quick test of the consecutive note bug, and after 15 years (!!!) it is FINALLY effin' fixed. It works correctly in playback, and it works correctly in scrubbing now too-- which is important to me and my compositional workflow.

If this update reduces the crashiness, that'll be a plus. Looks like they fixed a bunch of scenario-specific crashes, but none of them describe the more-or-less random kinds of crashes I get all the time. I'll report back after logging some more hours.

I think the "certain tempos" was the clue that got the bug fixed, and I believe it was first reported in this forum. Way to go 'Nation!
