I think I had both checked, and it seemed to work as it should, but your word of caution makes me want to go and correct that setting.James Steele wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 2:46 pm Just to be on the safe side, also check to make sure that the AU version of Melodyne is un-checked. Pretty sure it's possible to have both formats load at once and that could be confusing.

Re: Audio to MIDI
unchecking the AU and enabling VST3 for Melodyne made no difference. I have a feeling I do not have the right software installed. Please post linke to Melodyne and any other software I should be installing. Note the rest of my plugins are all AU. Thanks.

Re: Audio to MIDI
I just used Melodyne for Audio to MIDI today and it worked very nicely. For ARA, you must use the VST3 version, as has been noted.
I have Melodyne Editor. Not sure if the limited version you get for free with DP will do the conversion, especially if the audio is polyphonic. Have you confirmed Melodyne ARA is working for you? If it is, the lack of Audio to MIDI may be a limitation inherent in the free version.

Re: Audio to MIDI
Although the free version will do the new Audio to MID in DP 11.2 and later, it should only be used on single line mono tracks. As has been noted, VST3 must be enabled in Settings or Melodyne will be greyed out. Because it’s an ARA feature, the AU is not available for this use. PureDSP and another option will still be available.HCMarkus wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 1:13 pm I just used Melodyne for Audio to MIDI today and it worked very nicely. There are other ways to use Melodyne in DP and those are unaffected.
If you have a more advanced version of Melodyne installed, that will be used instead—to switch back, it have to be removed and Essential reinstalled. To test Melodyne Essential, I had to install it on one of my 2012 MBPs that does not have Melodyne Studio.
The feature is definitely program dependent.
I’ve been trying to get this to make a piano track from a fingerpicked guitar accompaniment. So, far, it sucks, picking up only the lower notes of the guitar. I’ll spare everyone all of the steps including octave shifting, compression, expansion etc. that I’ve gone through but I’ve could have done it manually in less time. When I’m back in my studio tomorrow, I will download the latest Melodyne update and try again. It’s an academic exercise at this point.
