Hi all,
Just indulged in some retail therapy and bought a Behringer X-Touch. Will it run better under DP11 with HUI or MCU control? Does DP even support HUI?
Thanks!

Re: Behringer X-Touch....HUI or MCU?
I would use MCU with DP.
My console is a controller- I use MCU with DP, and HUI for Pro Tools. I wouldn't use HUI for anything else than Pro Tools, because there are certain limitations with it for other DAWs. HUI was the first of all these formats back in the day, and it's sort of an old dog.
If my Matrix console supported Avid's EuCon (or whatever it's called now) I would use that for PT, but I would likely still use MCU for DP, because it is solid and dependable.. MOTU also updated the MCU protocol for DP a year or two ago, works much better now.

DP11, 2019 16-Core Mac Pro, Monterey, 64GB RAM. RME HDSPe MADI FX to SSL Alphalink to SSL Matrix console, and multiple digital sub consoles. UAD Quad PCIe. Outboard stuff.

MCU. I have a spreadsheet where I mapped out every behavior of each option. I will post it later.
Note, there is "MCU" and "MCU Compatible". I don’t remember which is which. I will look it up.

As I said, I can't attach the spreadsheet where I mapped out everything to the best of my ability, including the HUI profile, but here is the bread and butter of it. As you can note, I went with "MCU Compatible". Enjoy your X-Touch. I paid $3,500 for my actual HUI in 1999. Faders started chattering fairly soon and it failed in a couple of years. I only paid $350 for my X-Touch I've had it for two years and it is working fine. BTW, I started with 16 faders, but ditched the expander to make room for an SSL UC1. I don't miss them at all. 8 faders gets the job done.
