RIP Ghobish (AKA Gary Hobish)
Ghobish (AKA Gary Hobish) passed yesterday. While dancing The Lindy at a park in San Francisco, which he did every Sunday for years, he fainted and hit his head. I’ve known him since the 1960s and he was an active member of this community.

Re: RIP Ghobish (AKA Gary Hobish)
Oh my gosh… I knew Gary through Kronos and was lucky enough to work with him once, about 12 years ago, which was a real pleasure. I’m saddened to hear.

Re: RIP Ghobish (AKA Gary Hobish)
Yikes, that is a sad shocker. I haven't been in as regular touch with west coasters since my unexpected east coast transplant, but had seen Gary's return to the forum recently in several posts and assumed he was doing well.
This sounds like a tragic accident and unrelated to any health issues, so I think it caught everyone by surprise.
Gary was also very involved in the film archive project, which is how we met in person originally, alongside Mike Halloran and MLC. I am sure this has left a gaping hole in many people's lives. He was a very dedicated and talented individual.
