And that's not including charges for WUP.

pffft... who cares!

Go with the URS S series and 1980s comp plugins. Cheaper, more flexible, and a MUCH better company to deal with. No WUP crap, either.

After over an hour of listening...

The Mix Bus Compressor is Here. Trust me you wanna run them with the analog mode on....Just warms up your sound so nicely.....

Good Job Waves. Still hate the company, but for this one it is worth it. :)

On My G5 they dont exact a heavy tax and they run wonderfully under DP. :)

Wonderful Pcs. Gonna remix a couple tunes that I mixed without them. God I missed the sound of analog and these come real real close.....

Lastly, the URS S never sounded as good as these. The S was modeled afer the E series EQ (or so they said.) It is very digital and sterile sounding compared to these puppies.

Finally look around. GC made me a wonderful offer :) 800 is list.....

Haven't had a chance to sit with it yet. Maybe tomorrow night.
How much is GC selling it for?

Lately I've been using ColorTone for some warmth. Splinter put me up on it.
It seems to add a nice warmth to a track and combined with a UAD 1176 it's beautiful, plus you can create your own IR's for it.
When I get a chance I'm making IR's of my Avalon 747 and my TLA C1.
Hopefully I'll get good results.

Make sure you share with the other kids. And make sure you follow the directions in the manual for making your own IRs.

I also forgot about MH ChannelStrip which was modelled after the SSL as well. Plenty of alternatives for a rather passe EQ.

I'm sure it sounds good... Waves stuff always does. It's just not worth the headache and the required cash. Many good alternatives.

Channelstrip sounded good back in 99 but not these days matter of fact I stopped using Channelstrip 5 years ago. Cant for the lif eof me figure out why I keep it updated. Maybe is is the feel of the comp when in warmth mode.

Definitely it doesnt sound as good as these SSL plugins.

Hey, those Waves thingys look really cool. I used to have one of the Waves bundles back in my OS9 days. I may have to give them another try.
And forgive my ignorance...What is ColorTone, WUP, and PoCo? I await knowledge!

These new SSL plugs are all-pro. Very usable and sound unbelievable. They ARE the sound I have been looking for in plugs. I'm sold.

Well, as I said, Waves plugs always do sound good. It's just a matter of whether you want to deal with the fascist licensing policies and join their required annual update program (WUP). No join... NO SOUP FOR YOU! No updates and no support.

There is plenty of bitter EX-customers out there calling for a Waves boycott with due cause. I presently have the Gold + RenMaxx bundle and have grown quite dependent on it but am weening myself and finding many great PRO alternatives.

This is the other thing that pisses me off about Waves. They've taken the Digi approach to marketing. "If you're a REAL pro you'll use our plugs and pay an outrageous price for them." BS! If that's the case then DP isn't a PRO application. Waves will be getting no more money from me.

.....could'nt have said it better myself.!!.....I have the Gold Bundle, and they're gathering dust right now. WUP??....That'll be the day...I'm not "renting" any more Waves products.
