Looks like you do have to download an installer that contains all their plugs and then custom install just this one.

Post by James Steele »

Normally $69... on sale for $9.99

https://www.pspaudioware.com/products/psp-hertzrider2
PSP HertzRider2
STEREO FREQUENCY SHIFTER TAKEN TO THE NEW LEVEL!

PSP HertzRider2 is the successor to the original PSP HertzRider frequency shifter. This update benefits from algorithm optimizations, and adds numerous significant new features. PSP HertzRider 2 been designed to be as simple as possible, to take as few resources as possible, and to incur only very slight (and frequency dependent) latency.

PSP HertzRider2 can be an incredible tool for tuning inharmonic sounds like snares, and when used on harmonic sounds it becomes a creative and crazy sonic destruction tool. In addition to a wide range of shifting settings, the algorithm contains an LFO to provide interesting modulation options allowing you to further experiment and get creative.

ATMOS 3 MAX for $10

Post by James Steele »

This one just popped up in my email:

https://electronikoundlab.gumroad.com/l/iwenn/0or40up
Atmos 3 Max is a cinematic ambient piano, with 2 layers of sound with adjustable level, one layer of acoustic piano sound recorded from a Yamaha C3 and another layer of sound pads created from the same original samples, using various digital processing such as Reverbs, Morphing and Structural Effects among others.

Atmos 3 Max is aimed at all popular genres such as Ambient, Pop, Hip Hop, Trap, EDM, House, but also for Cinematic production, filmmakers, and sound designers.

Atmos 3 Max is available in VST/VST3/AU plugin formats for Windows and Mac (64 bit)

Features:

Windows & Mac
25 Multi-Sampled Piano Presets
2 Layers
LFO modulation controls
Lowpass/highpass filter cutoff
ADSR envelope controls
Built-in chorus
Built-in delay
Samples meticulously edited one by one
Easy to use
100% royalty free
System Requirements on Windows:

Windows 8.1/10/11
1.5 GB Disk Space
1 GB Ram
VST/VST3 host 64-bit
System Requirements on MacOS:

macOS 10.14 And Above
1.5 GB Disk Space
1 GB Ram
AU/VST/VST3 host (64-bit)

UPDATE: Well, I was the guinea pig... bought it. You kinda do get what you pay for. Basically this appears to be a etherial piano type instrument and the patches sound very similar except for how they decay and some effects underneath the piano. I could see it being useful in certain cases, but glad it was only $10. Definitely not worth the $20. On the bright side it does appear to be Apple Silicon Native.

Purafied Micro Limiter $20 intro price (normally $38)

Another interesting compressor/limiter from Purafied. Based on a much maligned 80s compressor. The GUI is obviously Alesis. :D

Holiday Freebies... lots of cool useful Kontakt instruments

Post by James Steele »

I don't know this guy, but, much to the dismay of my bank balance, I've been watching this guy's YouTube channel regularly (almost said "religiously" but that's against board rules... ha!) and found some pretty good deals. This one features FREE instruments... I'm especially interested in many of the Kontakt instruments. Lots of good stuff in this one!

Agus Hardiman Monster Synth

Post by James Steele »

Okay... trying out some of the free VIs from the video I posted earlier and came back here to give a special shout out to Monster Synth:

https://agushardiman.tv/monster-synth-a ... -sounds-2/

Free... and very, very cool. Can't go wrong on this one. VST2, VST3 and AU versions and is also Apple Silicon native. You need to download the plug (no installer just put in proper folder) and then don't forget to scroll down and download the library that goes with it. When you download the library you have the choice of the light skin which is pretty basic... or the dark skin that is purple/black and has cool dragon graphic on it. Ha! I went with that one... tastefulness be damned! :P

Nectar 3 Plus for $12.50 (normally $249) at ADSR

Post by James Steele »

Well this seems like a no brainer and the plugin appears to be native M1 as well. I previously had Nectar 3 Elements... which I uninstalled and installed this. Funny thing is I went to iZotope website and checked my upgrade offers and it still showed they'd upgrade my Nectar 3 Elements to Nectar 3 Plus for $149!! I think $12.50 is a little better.

I don't use it much anymore because I do very little in the way of pop vocals anymore but, when I did, Nectar was a major time saver. At $12.50, I consider it a must have (and I do as part of packages). The presets let you dial in a sound quickly and it's easy to tinker under the hood if you need to.

I'm sure that the inclusion of Melodyne Basic was seen as an improvement but I really liked the old pitch tool. It was a great "set and forget" plug-in in the Ron Popeil tradition and worked on a lot of singers, especially female.

Yeah... for just over 12 bucks it just seems there's no reason to add it to your arsenal. Like I said, I want by the iZotope website before buying it to check if it was on sale there, and the upgrade to it from Nectar 3 Elements that I owned was $149!!

Yeah. I don’t want to go fire up the Mac right now to make a screen shot, but that info may be outdated. I ran the PlugInfo app after I installed it and it shows the VST3 as “Apple, Intel64” meaning it has ARM code. The AU unit shows up with a name that I includes “AUHook” or something similar that makes me wonder if it is a shell for the VST3 but it is also indicating it contains ARM code? Although given that the file size is nearly the same as the VST3, I'm guessing it's a standalone AU.
