At that price I’m tempted to get it just to test the hypothesis. PatchWork worked for DrumCore 4, so it’s a possibility. The big question is whether fxpansion will really follow through on their claim that they will release an AS native version. I hope they do.

That would be nice.

I have BFD3 but never used it—didn't know that I'd upgraded awhile back but saw it in an old email that I had done so (oops!). I found the current web site, was able to register my upgrade and download the content etc. with minimal hassle.

I've subscribed to this guy's YouTube channel to find out about deals and free plug-ins. He released this one yesterday and there's a lot of interesting stuff in it that can be picked up for free:

Melodyne Upgrades on sale... I just upgraded from the version included with DP11 to Editor, which allows note editing within chords. About $150 at AudioDeluxe.

Seems like a really good deal…BUT…How do you use it? And is it really much better than DP's included pitch correction tools? Trying really hard not to hurt my wallet this season…

I'm happy to see Melodyne work so well with DP 10. I can't wait to get DP 11.
Any news on maybe a Black Friday discount for DP upgrade?

Earlier, Celemony announced that Essential, bundled with DP 11, was eligible for upgrade pricing. I had experienced that years ago when iZotope bundled Essential 4 with Nectar 3.

Even better, Essential is available as a further discount of your upgrade price for existing licenses. For instance I had Melodyne Studio 4, and the free Essential that comes with DP11 can be used to drop the price of the upgrade to Studio 5 to as low as $49 which is what it cost me at the time. :)

Plug-in Sales and Special Deals Sticky Topic

Post by James Steele »

Universal Audio is having a Black Friday sale that goes through Black Friday on their DSP assisted plugs. They’re doubling the number of plugs you get with their custom bundles. For example you can get 3 additional plug-ins with the Custom 3 bundle… so six for $399. The new Hitsville Reverb Chambers (normally $349) is eligible for this so I went ahead and went for it since I’ve heard great things about this one.

I ended up getting that and filling out some of the basics. I got:

Hitsville Reverb Chambers
Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb
LA-2A Leveler Collection
1176 Classic Limiter Collection
Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor Compressor
Pultec Passive EQ Collection

So all of that for $399 ain’t bad since many of the include perpetual license for the Spark versions. I’m still really reticent about subscriptions. I recently got a UAD-2 TB Satellite OCTO as I figure it will be useful for good while longer and I can use it for the processor intensive plugs.

Ah! Cool! Thanks for letting me know. There are a few apps (like anything by Melda) where patience pays off.
