Yeah... I know a lot of people do "broadcast wav" because of time stamping? Maybe that has something to do with it?HCMarkus wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 4:31 pmI'm taking a break, but will try it again soon James. Good thought about .aiff... Re: DP 11.21 Released
Hmmm... just opened a small test project I made recently and my default audio recording file format was WAV. Dragged soundbite to desktop. No crash. Hmmmm... might be hard to pin this down. I think what will be necessary is for someone having the problem to open a support ticket at MOTU and then send them a crash log. That might give them the info needed to figure out what's causing it.

Re: DP 11.21 Released
I sent several crash logs to MOTU on this one. They advised they were aware before 11.2 was released.

Re: DP 11.21 Released
It's work fine also for me at this level; on the other hand, calling and using Universal Audio Instruments & plug-ins (UADx format) caused me crashes of D.P. when reopening projects containing these UADx instances.
No more problem now with version 11.21.
Definitely resolved as it doesn't appear in the Enhancements text _

It seems a bit faster to me, so far, in terms of launch and project loading. I haven't had a crash yet either.

Re: DP 11.21 Released
I always thought any wave file larger than 4 gb is automatically saved as a broadcast wav file with abc.wav64 suffixYeah... I know a lot of people do "broadcast wav" because of time stamping? Maybe that has something to do with it?
Time stamps in wav files are stored only in all exported files.
Hope someone can explain better.

Re: DP 11.21 Released
Well, it turned out file format doesn't seem to have anything to do with the crash when dragging a soundbite to the desktop. I think the 4GB limitation used to apply to SD2 files or something? I remember there being a size limitation.Chandrasekar wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 8:51 amI always thought any wave file larger than 4 gb is automatically saved as a broadcast wav file with abc.wav64 suffixYeah... Re: DP 11.21 Released
Actually, I'm getting crashes when dragging audio within DP, which is what I think this video is really showing. You can't tell from realtime viewing, but in slo mo I can see neither the soundbite being dragged nor curser are near the desktop when DP crashes in this video. Anyone else getting crashes when dragging audio from track to track?dix wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 11:43 amHere’s me:James Steele wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 11:26 amThat one seems intermittent and hard to nail down. Re: DP 11.21 Released
Only crashing on Drag to Desktop, but last time I tried, under DP11.21 and macOS 12.6.1, it worked. I've just been avoiding so as to avoid unpleasant surprises. I've had crashes dragging from TO to SE windows within Consolidated Windows, but have not been on DP a whole bunch since a little vacation ended... some performing gigs have been keeping me busy of late.
In other words, not any solid data points.

Re: DP 11.21 Released
One other bug, or possible new behavior that slipped in with this version, or with 11.1, is that Move Tracks To be Together in the SE no longer consistently moves tracks up to be together with the highest selected track. Now about half the time they move down to the lowest. Both behaviors would be handy, but I can't ever tell now which way they will go.
Anyone else seeing this, or better yet, is there a way to choose whether the tracks will go up To Be Together or down To Be Together?

Yup DIX i saw this friday. I need it the original way to go up to the highest chosen track. I sure hope someone has a nice solution for us.dix wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 12:34 pm One other bug, or possible new behavior that slipped in with this version, or with 11.1, is that Move Tracks To be Together in the SE no longer consistently moves tracks up to be together with the highest selected track. Re: DP 11.21 Released
Just reporting that DP 11.21 is working beautifully on my 2009 MacPro (5.1) and OSX High Sierra 10.13.6.
Am in midst of a project with a film track running on the same monitor screen... and I still have the original 2009 stock Mac video card!
The only spinning beach ball I had was when I tried to switch out or make changes within an intensively active Waves plugin that's always been a little sketchy for years anyways.
But everything else in my system is loading faster, running smoother, and is totally responsive.
Best DP yet for me and my system!
