DDMF Tube Preamp - FREE

Post by James Steele »

I went by the site of the developer of Plugin Doctor (I ended up buying it as I wanted to geek out and see what my various plugins were doing), and found this freebie. Haven't tried it yet, but sounded good from the description the the price is right. :)

quick shout to DDMF

Post by stubbsonic »

It's not a "sale" or "special deal" but just a quick shout to DDMF for this crazy plugin called DirectionalEQ.

https://ddmf.eu/directionaleq-equalizer-plugin/

It allows you to solo or mute specific parts of the panosphere. I used it to very good effect when I was transcribing some recordings. The ability to solo some specific "location" is crazy, but it works. I'll confess it's not always black & white, but it does isolate things in a dramatic way.

As for it's intended use, you can actually EQ based on pan location.

Lots of stuff on sale now a JRR Shop...

Post by James Steele »

Got an email in my box this morning from JRR Shop with some pretty good deals going on.

Sonnox stuff is on sale at this link:
https://www.jrrshop.com/sonnox?dir=desc ... _from_date

Most notable to me is Oxford Inflator Native is $39 (normally $156).
https://www.jrrshop.com/sonnox-sony-oxf ... tor-native

Also their Oxford Limiter V3 Native is $66 (normally $264).
https://www.jrrshop.com/sonnox-oxford-limiter

Not sure what the future holds for the Sonnox plugs as far as AS-native goes, so I might be cautious, but I'm seriously thinking about the Inflator for $39. I had it many years ago and I remember it being pretty cool

SSL Fusion Stereo Image is $34.99 right now. (Normally $199.00)
https://www.jrrshop.com/ssl-fusion-stereo-image

There's also BOZ Digital stuff on sale:
https://www.jrrshop.com/boz?dir=desc&or ... _from_date

Flux Session Analyzer for $49.00 (normally $129)
https://www.jrrshop.com/flux-session-analyzer

HOSS Audio Kontakt Libraries
https://www.jrrshop.com/hoss-audio?dir= ... _from_date

Also Ergo Kukke Kontakt Libraries
https://www.jrrshop.com/ergo-kukke?dir=desc&order=name

Notable here in terms of amount of discount is Ergo Kukka Trails for $25.50 (normally $213.50)
https://www.jrrshop.com/ergo-kukke-trails

I haven't tried it, but may look for some YouTube demos to see if I want to pop for it.

UPDATE: Here's a couple of YouTube videos about I found quickly... the first is a walkthrough video and second features some sounds. I feel myself itching to grab my wallet... although do want to find out if I can control the XY pad in the GUI with CC messages. Also, YouTube search does not seem to find any third party reviews of Trails... that has me a little concerned.

Looks like you can also get this directly from the developer here for $25.38.

All of the above should not be taken as recommendation or endorsement. Just want to pass along. The Inflator, the SSL Fusion Stereo Image and maybe Flux Analyzer look good to me. As I said, want to listen to the "Trails" library and also there's a pad type library among the HOSS libraries I want to check out. I'm a sucker for pad sounds, since being primarily a guitarist and singer, I excel and playing keyboards SLOWLY!!

Okay... I bought Trails for $25. Maybe if you have tons of similar sounds you won't need it, but I'm happy with it.

FYI, you do have to remember to use the Kontakt interface to have it create a folder for the snapshot files and then move them there manually. It uses the Pulse Installer (at least the version I bought directly off the Loot website) which places all the snapshots in folders in the same location you designate for the instruments and samples.

Sonnox November Sale

Post by James Steele »

As it turns out, JRR seems to just be passing along manufacturer's sales. Sometimes I prefer to buy directly from developer. Turns out Sonnox is having a November sale and I bought Inflator there. Lots of other stuff on sale too. And latest Inflator IS Apple Silicon native:

https://www2.sonnox.com/pub/plug-shop/shop-b.php

I feel silly though. I bought it and even though it was good price on sale, when I gave my email and iLok account to see "My Products" I saw that I was eligible for an upgrade from my old version for even less! Oh well... a buck is a buck... so I wrote Sonnox and asked if maybe I could get a refund and then buy the upgrade instead. I'm sure. they're thinking this is one cheap limey!! LOL

I don't know if I even WANT to go check out the SSL Fusion Stereo Image plug. I'm dropping some coinage today.

SSL Fusion Stereo Image $34.99 (was $199)

Post by James Steele »

Once again, I went to the developer's site instead of JRR and popped for this. I'm happy to say that it sounds REALLY good. Not sure if there's a demo, but I'm happy with it.

Remember all those blowout sales on Exponential Audio plugs?

Post by James Steele »

Remember all those blowout sales of Exponential Audio reverbs, etc. by iZotope? Well, I got this in my email this morning from iZotope. We kinda figured this was what was going to happen. In a sense it was EOL product dumping. E tu, Lexicon?

Purafied VU Compressor $38 intro price (normally $100)

Post by James Steele »

This seems like a pretty cool compressor and there's a 14 day unlimited demo available:

https://purafied.com/products/purafied- ... compressor

Here's the video I saw that first peaked my interest:

Here's a very informative walkthrough video by the developer:

UPDATE: I really like this. Has some very unique and useful additional controls. Get the demo and check it out. Arghhh... my PAS (Plugin Acquisition Syndrome) is flaring up!!

Plug Alliance is having a 27.99 sale for any plugin (yes, they have a lot of sales). I picked up Kif Soma EQ for some mastering tasks and its blowing my mind how good it is. I recommend watching their video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiAhBA71MyI
to get the most out of it.

OMG ITS SO GOOD.
