Still broken in 11.11

Post by SMS »

• Can't switch to view another track's VI from an open VI window using the upper left popup (I have to open from Tracks Overview)
• Quantize window opens with 'What to Quantize: Releases' checked on startup
• Playing selected MIDI data with opt-spacebar doesn't play only selected data
• MIDI notes that start at the wiper point are truncated when Play is initiated

everyone else see this?

Thanks

Seen some of that, and I can add:
1. MPE MIDI recording is broken, it simply doesn't record the cc's.
2. REX files on Apple Silicon crash DP instantly if attempting to use as all outside of plug ins that can use them.
3. There are a few bugs in Custom Consoles that get in the way when attempting to assign cc's etc.

There are others as well. Word is an update is imminent, so hopefully at least a good half of these get fixed.

BTW if I'm not mistaken this one:
• Can't switch to view another track's VI from an open VI window using the upper left popup (I have to open from Tracks Overview)
This is happening because of the new Instrument + MIDI tracks, basically you still can switch in the the upper left popup, it takes an extra step now though because it lands you in MIDI FX insert A, not the main instrument window. So if you have a MOTU MIDI effect in that track it's what you would see. I still think it's a bug though, because you should be able to see the instrument GUI as default like we're used to.

That's cool, love when that happens. :)

Right now I just ran into the other major broken PITA.
Hitting Clear and Import Bundles breaks MIDI in the open project, just drops away into the ether, only quitting DP completely brings it back. :banghead:

Oh man, I'm glad I saw this today. I have a new audio interface PCIe card I need to install, was about to do it. I know it's possible I will have to go in and rename every I/O into a new bundle, for EVERY project I want to pull up for the last several years, including the current album project. I know, right? But I need the expansion.

Knowing it breaks the MIDI, and restart is the workaround, really helps. Lots of time saved there, thank you Michael!

I may as well add this little inconvenience:

If a MIDI track is recorded with continuous cc from any input channel other than channel 1, the track is rendered incapable of editing the cc data with the pencil tool.

The workaround is to select the recorded MIDI track or tracks, export as a MIDI file, then reimport.. I simply drag it into the TO. Those can then be edited normally, after turning off the originals.
