So far the audio routing works just fine, but the MIDI is a little iffy. I can get audio from MainStage with Alchemy etc. into the track in DP, but sending MIDI notes recorded in DP is not really working. Sent in a support ticket. I suspect you would have to still use the IAC MIDI driver in Mac OS to do this right.

It routes audio from one application to another, over a network like VEP, and does MIDI as well.
So essentially I can use Alchemy hosted in MainStage inside DP.

Just got it, but everything checks out so far. On sale for 20% off until midnight... but it's only around $50 normally so...

Does it compensate for latency across the connected apps? I can do this with IAC and blackhole, but need workarounds to deal with the differences in timing between things that get done in DP and things that take the round trip.

I’m beta testing the M1 native version of a certain notation app beginning today. This will be most useful if I can get it to work.

The last updates to GB, Logic, FCPx and MainStage appear to have removed all ReWire components.

So far I have gotten Alchemy hosted in Logic inside DP11, MIDI and audio!

So far I have not been able to get MIDI from DP11 to Mainstage though.

If anyone is curious you host a send and recieve VST on an Aux track in DP, then send the out of a MIDI track to the Connector instance in the Aux track.
In Logic you host a receive plug in in the MIDI FX slot on the Alchmey instrument track, then another instance of Connect as a Send in the regular Audio FX slot. One thing, it would be smart to send beat clock to Logic so the arpeggiators etc. are in time.

I haven't searched YouTube yet for reviews on this product, but ADSR has this for sale for $39 until March 1. Normally $399. 42GB worth of samples. They talk it up quite a bit on the website, but who knows, right? Again... I need to do some investigation. Requires full version of Kontakt.

This is a whole can of worms, but DP has never been able to be a Rewire slave. You must be referencing something else, or maybe DP as master.

Plugin Alliance usually excludes bx_limiter True Peak from their sales but it’s available right now for $29.95. Code ANY-2999-1 and is good up to three products. There are always some restrictions but True Peak is finally off that list. Since I bought it, I no longer use MW Limiter which distorts when pushed hard.

Their bundles, packages and licensing are confusing as hell but it is possible to purchase permanent licenses for single plugs and VIs.

Nobody seems to have a bad thing to say about it. It's like the bx_Limiter but more-transparent from what I can gather.

Thanks for the heads up. I snagged it. I like the GUI, and it all makes sense pretty fast.

It's kind of funny, P.A. has these sales that make it sound like "any" (as in "ANY-2999-1") of their products are included. Just note that even though Gig Performer is listed, it's not eligible. I was just thinking for $30, GP might be a nice alternative to a mainstage or plogue type host. Alas.

It's cool to hear the big shots praising True Peak, then to score it for $30.

• I think iLok is the only authorization type available which is fine by me, BUT if you're like me and want to sure an authorization ends up on your iLok dongle and NOT the computer, DO NOT redeem the iLok code with iLok Manager prior to downloading and installing. This bit me on the butt with another of these Exponential Audio plugs, and I had to authorize my computer AS WELL as the iLok dongle, because the plug-in upon first load did not see the authorization on my iLok and put me in a Catch 22 where if I tried to authorize again for iLok it would tell me it was already there, but still wouldn't let the plug run. I had to use computer authorization.
• Bottom line: Install the plug first before redeeming iLok code. You may need to restart your Mac for it to recognize new AU plug. Launch DP and when DP verifies the plug, you will THEN be prompted to enter the serial number to put authorization on your iLok and be prompted if you want authorization on your Mac or your iLok dongle. I always choose the dongle personally.
