Mout M4 Input drops?

Post by xxaphexx »

I recently bought a XLR Mic for my MOTU M4 and everything worked fine for the first minutes.

Then the input just drops to 0 and comes back after some seconds to minutes...

I feel like the firmware is faulty? I'm o the latest 2.02. Is there a way to downgrade the firmware, for testing purposes?

I made sure to exchange the mic, tested it on a different pc , switched inputs, also tried USB-C to USB-C, different XLR-Cables.

Doesn't matter it just drops randomly.

I guess I have to return/exchange the unit? I'm just curious if anyone else might have experienced this?

You don’t say how you are powering the M4. Bus owner, yes, but what’s the source? Is it battery from your PC, a desktop, a powered UBB hub?

If the unit is not at fault, that’s really the only logical source of the problem. If your PC is a notebook, you may require a powered hub in the chain.
