I want to connect modular gear to the MOTU and I was wondering if the trim (on analog in 3 to 8 ) in the Cuemix FX controls an analog attenuator/gain or is purely digital. It goes from -96 to +22. In the case it's purely digital that means if my input is to hot and is clipping the trim will only lower the clipped input is it correct? or am I missing something?
Can the direct signal from a modular (typically up to +5 / -5V) damage the MOTU?
MOTU ultralite mk3 line inputs analog trims?

Re: MOTU ultralite mk3 line inputs analog trims?
I think it should be fine. Recently I was able to use the speaker input of a passive DI into a line in on my Ultralight AVB with no issues and the trim behaved as would be expected. And I've used euro CVs into and out of a UL Mk1 with no problems (pitch tracking will need some finesse).
