DP 10, MXL Tempo usb... Error meaning??

Catalina, DP 10, MXL Tempo usb mic. I get this error message.

"Digital Performer cannot use this CoreAudio driver as it is currently configured because no outputs are available. You must configue the driver so that the MOTU Audio system can use at least one output pair."

The headphone output works but it will not show up as an input. How do I fix it?

My main system is a PC but I'm setting up the MXL Tempo mic on a Macbook.

yes. It shows record level in system settings.

Create an aggregate device in Audio MIDI Setup that has the USB mic plus whatever output(s) you want to use selected and pick that in DP hardware setup. That aggregate device will be available to all apps. Also, one other option should be to select multiple devices in DP hardware setup by cmd-clicking them (or is it ctrl-clicking - not at a Mac right now). Pick the outputs and then cmd-click the USB mic.

If you ever need to do this on a PC, you can use ASIO4ALL to create the PC equivalent of an aggregate device. The second option, selecting multiple devices in DP, is not available on PC.
