MIDI notes in piano roll squashing together
On one of my MIDI tracks all the notes just all became visually squashed together to be the same note, and that is what it sounds like in the synth that receives the data.
I pasted the correct notes into the MIDI editor because I had them duplicated in another track and it happened again.
Anyone ever seen this? It is a bit scary for a new user.

That's a weird one. Never seen it, but I'm on a Mac.

Is there a MIDI plugin somewhere in the signal chain altering the data?

There are no plugins of any kind the project is pure MIDI data. I opened a ticket with support.
For now I will use Cubase. I am bummed to lose the supposed compositional features of DP but until my needs change Cubase is much better at managing external synths using MIDI.

Yea, like maybe something is transposing them all to a fixed note (though that would take some doing, and I can't imagine it happening by accident).
If when it happens, it is always the same pitch, I'm curious if it is setting them all to some specific note every time.

Re: MIDI notes in piano roll squashing together
FWIW... this use to happen with Edit/SMPTE Track on the Atari. The buffer that holds the retro record (basically a MIDI buffer) would build up notes but had no particular location to send them too. MOTU seems to have figured it's way out of that rabbit hole of programming, but I suppose it's possible that could be the culprit.
