In Quickscribe selecting by click-drag should make a rectangle shaped selection area. Sometimes, though (and not sure what conditions are for this to happen), when first clicking, the depth of the rectangle is already defined without having moved the mouse down to define it. This is often a depth equal to a staff. Moving horizontally will cause all notes in a staff to be selected. Moving vertically will extend the selection in the direction of movement but a long way from the mouse pointer. I mostly want to just select a very narrow band and have it be placed exactly at the tip of the pointer.
To revert to 'normal' behaviour I have to select any individual note first, and then deselect it, after which I have full control over the selection. Curious.
quickScribe selection lasso starts with preset depth

Re: quickScribe selection lasso starts with preset depth
I"ve not seen that behavior here. (v9.52, OS 10.11.6)
Yea, it almost seems like it is registering a held click in a particular location that you have to "break" by doing some little gesture.
As an experiment, try hitting "escape" before you do a lasso selection. Perhaps that will jump it out of whatever thing it is stuck on.
I guess the next phase is to try to figure out what the conditions are.
Is this the latest mac DP version?

I'd also try dragging while hiding the command key. Snapping is similarly the default in other windows.
