Help with ARA on DP
I'm a very happy camper with DP.
Years and years of good results.
I have a potential client who wants Melodyne in ARA mode.
Does DP support that?
I think it means not having to transfer files back and forth when pitch correcting.
I usually use DP's built in pitch correction, so I'm out of the loop.
I have Melodyne and am hoping I can use ARA in DP.
Thanks!

Sorry man, the only answer I have for you is "Nope".

Re: Help with ARA on DP
Add slightly to this, Melodyne as a plug in works without ARA, just not as deeply integrated.
M2 Studio Ultra, RME Babyface FS, Slate Raven Mti2, NI SL88 MKII, Linnstrument, MPC Live II, Launchpad MK3. Hundreds of plug ins.

Re: Help with ARA on DP
Thanks for the info.
Client just brought me the project in Logic.
Trying Melodyne with ARA in Logic.
It is a very cool integration, I'm assuming DP could implement it easily.
I am a Logic neophyte and am finding the app very confusing.
Can't find anything like DP's 'Tracks' window in Logic.
Makes assigning things very convoluted.
I find it Highly Illogical.
Good brain exercise, but I love DP.

Re: Help with ARA on DP
Unless you are doing polyphonic tuning, can't you just use DP's pitch correction to accomplish your client's goals? Admittedly, I've not felt the need for Melodyne, having always found DP's "blob" analog fulfilled my pitch correction needs.
As such, I have not worked with Melodyne myself. What am I missing?

Re: Help with ARA on DP
Hey HC,
Yeah, you got it right.
DP's pitch correction is great and I use it daily.
In this case, the client is indeed asking for polyphonic pitch tricks.
Automation within polyphonic pitch manipulation?
I think I may be in over my head.
That said, I love a challenge.
Trying to do this in Logic.
So far, I'm thinking Logic is lacking some crucial features.
Feels like playing a 23 string guitar with a banana.
How hard would it be for MOTU to add ARA?
I'll keep plugging away.
Thanks to all for your input and help with this.

Re: Help with ARA on DP
I prefer that my clients tune their instruments before recording.
Still, we must, at least occasionally, deal with interesting choices and challenges, yes? Swing away Merrill!
