Time stretch acting weird
Hi, I am still on DP 8 but trying DP 9 as I upgraded to High Sierra. I record voice overs and use the time stretch function a lot to fit the timing on the commercials. I always did it in DP 8 without any issues but in DP 9.52, the resulting audio has some kind of delay that makes it unusable. Is there a new setting that I don't know? Time stretch is crucial for me! Help is appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Time stretch acting weird
There are new ZTX time and pitch stretching algorithms in DP 9.52. Pure DSP is preferred for vocals. Read up on audio options. A bit of trial and error may be in order to get the best results. Check Preferences>Audio Options.

Thanks, I tried but so far, not much difference. Do I have to start a new project in order to set those preferences up? I'll keep trying.

No, each soundbite can have its own pitch shifting mode. R-click to select the mode.Mushka wrote: Do I have to start a new project in order to set those preferences up? I'll keep trying.

My Tuning Preferences:
• For time stretching/compressing without pitch change, ZTX.
• For fine-tuning vocals, Pure DSP.
• For changing character of spoken word (faux James Earl Jones), ZTX.
• For transposing vocal track (within a few semitones), ZTX Formant Corrected.

Thanks! Those are great tips for when I do tuning. However, I'm not touching the tuning, I am stretching the time and when I do, the results give me a kind of delay on the voice.HCMarkus wrote:My Tuning Preferences:

Look further into the pitch preferences (right click, as noted previously) and go for the "Solo" or "Monophonic" (forget labeling - not at DP at the moment) options to get best results.Mushka wrote:Thanks!
