Starting Samples assigned to Markers via MIDI Notes ?

Post by toro »

> Four vocal samples are aligned in chunk session. The need to be triggered not in time.
> Each sample is set with a marker (Marker 1, Marker 2, Marker 3, Marker 4)
> "Go To Next Marker" in the Command Settings is assigned to a MIDI Note
> Every time I hit the MIDI Note DP jumps to the next marker BUT i have serious latency issues !?

Any ideas on how to start samples freely within a chunk situation before the actual song starts ?

Is the sample truncated so the start of the sound aligns with the marker? You could zoom in and see if it is pretty tightly aligned. If not, trim the fronts of the samples a little.
M1 MBP; OS 15.3, FF800, DP 11.33, PC3K7, K2661, iPad6, Godin XTSA (w/ SY-1000), 2 Ibanez 5-string basses (1 fretted, 1 fretless), FX galore

It´s perfectly set to the marker. Its definitely a latency problem. When the sequencer runs and I hit "go to next marker" there is a timing issue. If I Stop the sequencer, go to the marker position and then press play, no timing issues.

What about putting your samples in a sampler and just direct firing them from your keyboard? You can even use the computer keyboard as a triggering device.

Another option, though pretty long-in-the-tooth, is this:

But since you only have four samples, maybe nanosampler (one instance for each)?

Another possibility

I didn't know about this software, thanks!
The main reason why I have to keep the samples in DP is because the whole system is redundant.
So the backup laptop needs to follow exactly the main system.
Maybe the Nano sampler is a good idea. I´ll try that and give feedback ...

I started to say that Model12 will let you load samples, (more than one).
