Connecting a Dual 1.25 G4 and a PB1.67

Post by Adam Howden »

Hi All,

I've been searching through the posts and cant seem to find any regarding this issue but seem to remember reading about them a while ago... any how.

Have recently bought a PB 1.67 its pretty sweet and was hoping to be able to hook up it up in the home studio with my powermac dual G4 1.25 is it possible to combine the computing power of both or would it only be possible to syny one to the other. I have a 2408 and a MIDI express but don't have a firewire interface for audio out of the PB. I guess I was hoping to do it through the network cable somehow or other

Any thoughts advice greatly appreciated....

Hey,

The only thing I've heard about so far is to have one cpu handle mach 5 (or other VI, I assume), and feed it as a MIDI device to the host computer. It's a considerable power saver. But splitting audio, etc, I haven't heard about that. Magic Dave did say that having one cpu handle plugs was a difficult setup.
