9.5 save bug and errors

Post by Timeline »

When saving while playing, the front half of crossfades are removed. Save in play broken!
When doing a complete track song edit, 9.5 inserts fades on the back half of every cut. VERY BAD!

Reported to MOTU. Please reproduce and report as well

I never use fades inside a track except for special effect—always crossing at the null point eliminates the need.

I tried a few cross fades on a test track to see if I could duplicate the problem. Nope.

Without knowing exactly what and how, I haven’t a clue here.

No, all seems OK. But we seem to have a lot of issues in V9.x that happen consistently on some setups and not at all on others. Some of the automation lane issues early in V9 happened on my iMac and not on my MBP, using the same OS version.

No one is saying that you aren't having a problem.

I know Mike. Other strangneses im having include seeing the bottom performance window ocasionally bounce near to overload and other tims completely silent. Changed drives and the same thing happens intermittently. I notice when first starting this large session i can go through the entire tune and the performance bar is like off. Weird!

FWIW, several folks I know with 12 core machines report various DP and Finale issues not seen on other machines. May not be a connection here but definitely a correlation as a general trend based on anecdotal observations.

I have a 12 core on 9.5, do a lot of crossfade edits and occasionally save while playing and I have not seen this. I have another issue (crash-on-quit), but not this one.

What is a "save bud"?

From another thread:

Version 9.51 also introduces the following enhancements:
• Improved compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13.
Pitch shifting and time stretching will now function on older Macs.
• Fixed a crash involving old MAS plug-ins lacking standard language localizations

I wonder: Does DP 9.51 fixes anything else on older Macs? :?:

:-D

Maybe i need to go up to next OS. Unfortunately, my ssd will not allow it. I thought staying on El Cap would be ok. The 12 core mod did include a 5.1 rom update.
