MIDI drops out when recording
Mike H is helping me with this issue but I thought I would post this separately rather than an OT tag on someones elses post.
This morning I tried loading an older 2016 MOTU MIDI setup and it worked about half way through the time befor when it completely dropped out immediately upn pressing record. When it drops the MIDI, it disappears in the MIDI monitor as well. I'm using an MPTAV with 2.01 driver. The keyboard is pluggerd via a MIDI cable to the front of the MIDI machine then USB to the Mac. Its a plague IMHO.
Any other suggestions appreciated.

Re: MIDI drops out when recording
Please clarify - you are running MIDI OUT from your keyboard to MIDI IN on the MTPAV?
Are you running MIDI OUT from the MTPAV back to the MIDI IN on the keyboard?
Bear in mind these old MTPAV's are really long in the tooth, and many of them have failing batteries which cause problems like dropouts.

Yes
Are you running MIDI OUT from the MTPAV back to the MIDI IN on the keyboard?
No. there is no MIDI in. its an old keystation 49

I will see about changing the battery. I dont want to give this old MIDI box the boot yet because when it works it works great plus the resync to tape via time code is handy. Cheers, GB
