Audio MIDI app question

Post by sloiselle »

I'm sure this has ben covered, and I really did search for about 15 minutes but then ran out of patience. If anyone knows of a thread where this has been covered, I'd be grateful if you'd point me that way.....

I have a setup in Audio MIDI with a pair of MTP-AV units (with various MDI stuff plugged in hither and yon) - so far, so good. Details MBP 10.10.5, DP9.02 - and important issue is that the MBP is always going with me, and is therefore being regularly plugged into (and out of) my studio MIDI setup.

So what happens is that on a regular basis, I'll plug the USB cable into the MBP and the Audio MIDI setup will indeed see the MTP AV units, but they will think it's a different set than the ones I plugged all my stuff into before (so the window will have MIDI Timepiece AV, MIDI Timepiece AV #1, #2, etc.).

I've just been manually rewiring everything, every time I plug in (I have work to get done), but I figured I'd look and ask here, in case it's something simple/stupid (as is usually the case with me).

Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks, Scott

Does it do the same if you turn the MTP on before the Mac?

Do you have a direct connection or are you going through a hub? The MP's native USB bus or a 3rd party PCIe card?

Sounds like a dead battery in the MTP.

If you haven't changed it in over 5 years, it's time.

These use the same C2032 as many medical devices. All hardware and drug stores keep these in stock. The CR2032 is the same battery.

Totally. An MTP/AV is the oldest piece of gear in my studio: it predates my #1 electric guitar! ANd I've changed the battery 3 times, each time for this same behavior.
